If you don't want to crunch numbers to be as economic as possible and spend time on gathering knowledge, making deals etc, you can ofcourse just deposit an amount of bucks each month and have fun with that .

Sweating, a way to generate 'free' money (slow progress, but still its free) is now reintroduced again after it was not available around the upgrade to the CryEngine2.
The developers are now aiming at making the game more 'beginner friendly' with their monthly updates. Last one had a new mission system that they are currently testing out.

Another thing I must say about this game is that I really like it's community / audience.

Be sure to try it out
It's not about being smart it's about being lucky, if you kill a monster and it drops 0.02 ped worth of loot it drops 0.02 ped worth of loot..there's no invisible skill involved in it.

However I suppose what your talking about is making sure that they choose the right decisions on what to spend the money on...for instance buy a pistol, and ammo, nothing else at first, as well as figuring out which places are good to kill monsters at and which ones you can kill.

I was lucky and had a friend who spent 40 bucks on it to get started *just to play around and have fun, not necessarily make money off of it* and we actually did have fun for about 2~3 days....he killed stuff with his pistol while I healed him with my pokeball lol but it got old since for one it takes a long time to really need to upgrade to a better weapon, for another it's very expensive to upgrade past the first weapon, and the fact that melee is not cost effective, leaving really the only thing you can do is use pistols and...forgot the other weapon that's fairly cheap...I think it's just laser or regular pistols I don't remember exactly.

But yah try it out anyway every "free" game is worth a try as long as you got time on your hands.
