Default [Korean] Top 10 PC Games Being Played (2/23 All Genres)

This is a listing of the top titles being played in Korea for PC within all genres.
I will also list their Genre and Market Share % after the title.

    01. Aion Online (MMORPG) [17.5%] -.11
    02. Sudden Attack (MMOFPS) [13.32%] +1.23
    03. Starcraft: Brood War (Multiplayer RTS) [6.73%] -.30
    04. Warcraft 3 (Multiplayer RTS) [6.03%] -.10
    05. World of Warcraft (MMORPG) [4.53%] -.54
    06. Lineage 2 (MMORPG) [4.38%] -.18
    07. Lineage (MMORPG) [4.05%] -.14
    08. Dungeon & Fighter (2D Side-Scrolling MMO Beat'em Up) [3.66%] U2 +.54
    09. FIFA Online 2 (Multiplayer Soccer/Football) [3.37%] D1 -.05
    10. Special Force (MMOFPS) [3.37%] D1 *No Market Movement*

This session we saw a small gain of .35% overall Market Share. There was not much movement to be had, but some games did see some rise in interest. SA had a nice 1.23% increase and DnF moved up 2 positions with an increase of .54% to continue it's rollercoaster rise. Our biggest loss was WoW at .54%, but even that wasn't enough to cause it to shift positons. Aion stayed as the King of the Hill and seems quite secure in that position. In total we saw a small shift of focus to casual games over focused games for this period. See you next time.

With the SC2 Beta out now I see the board starting to shake a little bit in the relative future.

    World of Warcraft at 5?

I think Korea is plotting something, something serious.

Sudden attack isn't a MMOFPS by the looks of it, it is room-based. Makes me wonder how many more mistakes are in the first post.

Sudden Attack is indeed an MMOFPS.... and yes it is room based.
There is nothing wrong with the list.
    Most MMOFPS's are room based.
You might have been thinking of something else. =O

But let's not get into that anymore. These things always turn into small arguments.
Actually they "should" be considered just FPS. This is because with adding "MMO" to the beginning it inquires that there is sometype of character development, wich none of them have. Character development as in New weapons, level ups, customization etc.

I don't believe that any of them games would make USA's top list besides WoW.

Nobody gives a shit if it's room based or not. :| It's an FPS and it's online that's all you need to know.

Character development has nothing to do with what it is titled. Massively Multiplayer Online means that it is, obviously, played by a large portion of people, online.

Obviously, games such as Planetside have to stick by the term MMOFPS because, well, MMORPFPSG just sounds stupid and is too long.

MMO is just a coin termed by games that gain a lot of people playing online, but has transformed into a preset term meaning "character development" and generally something along the terms of an online RPG or a game that makes use of levels and stats.

Much like emo was originally a brand of music called emotive rock, and now it's turned into whiny bratty burbians that want to kill themselves and show the world their pain.

I believe Lineage used to be one of the top 10 in the US a few years ago, not sure right now.

DnF has the potential, but of course it won't. lol, Nexon.

It's also pretty difficult to measure the market share of F2P games. With P2P you can base it on active subs, not so sure with F2P.
