Also Uke would is the equivalent of submissive or submitted, while seme is the more dominant person... I actually learned those terms years ago in sport class (or whatever it's called in english ...) when we did wrestling ..

Uke comes from the verb ukeru which means to receive or catch. Which really doesn't have a lot to do with submission.
You're probably wondering what seme comes from, it comes from the verb semeru which means to attack.

I know these are used in sports such as martial arts but it really has nothing to do with submission, it just tells who's attacking and who's defending.
