Default Mass Effect or Fallout 3

Well i am thinking about getting Mass Effect
    2
or Fallout 3. Issue is iv never touched
Mass Effect 1,so not sure if it would be a
good idea to just jump into Mass Effect 2
(i don't have much money to spend on games right now)

So it comes down to Is Fallout 3 better then Mass Effect 1 ?
Or is Mass Effect 2 so good that it would be better to buy Part 1
and get Mass Effect 2 later

    I barely touched ME1 (I dislike the gameplay), but FO3 isn't bad.

The biggest issue is that you don't get free-roaming after you defeat the campaign, so you'll need to do all sidequests before the final mission if you want 100% played.

    FO 3 imo.

I've never played ME2 but if it's anything like 1 I probably wouldn't like it.

Well the combat is revised to FPS/Crysis instead of traditional "need items to restore HP" kinda thing.

Some people might say this is a bad thing though.

Wait for Battlefield BC:2, or even Medal Of Honor.

If you're looking for more of an RPG, wait for Resonance Of Fate.

    It's so incredibly over-hyped.

It releases around the same time as FFXIII , so it's your call.
I'm probably going to rent them both before making a judgement.
BF:BC2 is top priority , though.

I bought mass effect the first one and i kinda regret it. I like doing everything in a game but i got really discouraged when i talked to a npc and i went through over 20minutes talking to this npc before i gave up and exited the game:S

Fallout 3 GOTY edition (which has all the DLC) should be cheaper than ME2.

I only recommend ME2 if you've played ME1 and like games where the emphasis is on storyline and characters more than on sheer gameplay.

If you like RPGs, do yourself a favor and get ME1 and 2.

If you're more of an "open world" gamer that likes tons of mods, then get FO3.

    ^ What he said.

Mass Effect = tops 30 hrs gameplay
    Fallout 3 = Countless hours.

    I don't have any of the DLC's so I wouldn't know.

Yes.. Broken Steel alters the ending of Fallout 3 to allow continued play after the end of the main quest line

Bethesda isn't worth my money as they refuse to do a simple fix to make FO3 run on W7 without too much hassle.
(hint hint: a crack makes it playable, meaning the security is most likely at fault)
Who buys DLCs now days anyways? ;3
