But regardless, even if it was going to end I highly doubt any reputable organization would even state that the world is going to end. Imagine worldwide reaction to hearing that the world was going to end? It would be complete chaos.

No one can and that's the point it's silly for people to try and predict the end of the world it can 't be done. Sure we could get hit by a rouge comet, or have some truly massive natural disaster that could affect most parts of the world and we most likely will because both have happened before. When you see a video like this, playing scary music and covering shit in red which I guess is a pretty scary color, a part of you just wants to start believing the things you're seeing. Oh no, all that red just flashed over the entire area you live and every state around it, you feel a little scared at the very sight of your city marked for destruction. To top it off, you may even see the word "NASA" or "geologist" somewhere in the mix. Man, this is some serious shit, I'm scared.
That's the part where the gullible or not very smart guy's thought process stops. I think it's safe to assume at least 10% of people in the world can fall into this category, which already gives you millions of people who see and believe this shit.
It's all just a play on fear, or the desire for someone to feel like they're "special" or "different" for being part of the underground guys going against popular belief and feeling like they're the superior ones for knowing.. "THE TRUUUUTH". Life is too boring otherwise right? You gotta be the one whose all "Heheh, you're all so stupid, blindly believing what the government tells you.
