    Default Auto-tracking: Yeah or Neh?

Wondering if the majority of gamers here are in for the idea of auto-tracking in MMOs. Meaning you can click on a NPC name or coordinate in the Quest window, and your character auto-tracks there. Some players deem it a function which makes gamers lazy, others say its convenient.

    Your thoughts?

I don't play games were the game is so monotone that such things would be even worth considering.
And if the cloud bursts, thunder in your ear.

You shout and no one seems to hear.

well~ depends on the situation I guess.

I mean, if you are spending hours doing quests/grinding, why not reduce the downtime and effort by making the game mechanic move your character for you to your desired destination? Would you really want to exert extra, unnecessary energy to move your character to a quest/grind spot? I personally wouldn't~

If people are against auto-tracking, then at least make it so that when you point somewhere to move, your character will automatically follow a route there, not get stuck behind a rock or something~ (hate games like that)

I like it I don't mind I wouldn't call my self lazy because I play alot of games without it. Especially if it's the type of game where you have to walk really far to get to where you want.

i like it but i dont mind walking manually.

during auto-tracking, i am able to alt tab to msn/web browser :P coz really, making/watching ur char walk for 10+ mins is pretty boring. although sometimes u might encounter something interesting on your way (rare mob? rare loot? interesting fight? GM? xD).

The only thing I've ever liked about it, is the way it would allow me to alt-tab and talk to my closer friends between runs. Though I can usually do that during combat with those kind of mmo's..

So I guess I'm..on the negative end of it.

I love auto tracking. Nothing better than smoking a cig while running up to Mr. Chen-Wan to recieve the letter of recommendation.

Sometimes I do prefer it. Saves me from a lot more trouble than it causes.

If the location of said object is accurately shown, then no, there's no need for auto-tracking. But if they leave you behind with just a hint of where the said thing is, then **** yeah give me auto-tracking.

Auto tracking > Badly translated usually incorrect character name at "xx0101020 y4092399" / vague description aka "the city"
