Default Playing a female character in FF

I dislike the fact that the main character in FF is a female (No offense)
But i really want to find a way to get over that. Disliking playing a female character
really shouldn't be an issue, i was just never into playing female characters it bugs me in a way.
    .

    Does it bother anyone else?

It's never bothered me that a main character was male when I didn't have the option. I guess I'm kind of used to it by now. Of course, when given a choice I choose female, but as long as the actual character is likeable and not..ehm..annoying? Then I'd play it regardless.

I couldent care less what sex the main character is.

If its a good game, its a good game.

So i'm not bothered at all.

Infact, its a nice change, way to many games have male main characters, and some of those japanese male characters can well look very female.

I've personally been desensitized to this, but if you don't want to play as a female, then there are other Final Fantasy games coming out.

Square Enix recently (as in, several days ago) released Fantasy Earth Zero. It is fun (until I realized that my graphics card was outdated).

Then I guess there isn't much you can do besides not play FFXIII

And xeno, how is said 14 year old that fights with a boomerang different than an 11-12 year old that fights with a giant teddy bear? (Anise, Tales of the Abyss)

JUST FYI; Gamepot USA published it, not Square Enix (they gave it up long ago), infact Square Enix has nothing to do with that game except for owning the ip?, Fenix Soft developed it.

Its as far away from "Final Fantasy" as you get.

And the game is 4 years old but just now got localized.

I've got no problems with a female "lead". She's not a bad character at all, and is actually tolerable unlike Tidus, and serves a point unlike Vaan. Though every character is fleshed out to about the same extent, and they all have a deal of backstory. So calling Lightning the "lead" is a bit false.

Don't get me started on this damn Hope kid though. I swear I will stab somebody at SE for these incredibly whiny children one day.
