so a game that has action combat is mindless?, while a game like Dragon Age is strategic? Sorry but I've seen quite a few "mindless action games" that are strategic.

personally if I wanted to play a game that feels as boring as WoW, I'd play WoW. (which actually I think I have more fun with than dragon Age)

Going to get flamed for this or at least frowned upon but after about an hour or two of playing the game I had no interest in it, typically easy, felt like I should be playing it on my PC, and I didn't feel like I was doing much of anything. Hated it.

I've been looking endlessly for an game with a huge party that travels with you, backs you up, and helps you kill bosses and whatnot, so i was really excited for DaO, but after 4 hours, its just cut scenes, they got into the storyline too much, i don't quite like games where you get to kill 5 people, especially with pointing and clicking (gaah), and then you get to watch a 5 minute cut scene, 5 people later, another cut scene, i want something like oblivion, where you get to do what the hell you want to do.

And Hobo, Clicking your mouse button to swing your sword automatically means its an mindless game?

Seems like you haven't played enough Hack 'n Slash RPG's.
Try playing Oblivion mindless, and you will get the ''STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM''.

The cut scenes are not that long. You must have not gotten far into the game.

There are times where I play for hours with no cut scenes.

Never touch Final Fantasy 13 because that game is bombarded with long long cut scenes.

    Have you tried Mass Effect?

It's pretty much exactly what you're asking for. Combat plays out like a 3rd person shooter, but it's still primarily an rpg.

Strategic in the sense that you have to wisely manage all of your characters and their abilities and do a lot of micro managing. It's like Baldurs Gate, but I guess if you couldn't even make it through Dragon Age you've never played that.

I don't think I've ever played an action rpg that actually required any real thought or strategy except maybe the earlier titles in the ES series.

And don't compare Dragon Age to WoW, they are completely different.

Way to take what I said completely out of context, bro. Oblivion is easy as shit.

Dragon Age feels like WoW to me. only boring.

Also the games cutscenes are completely ugly. maybe it's just from my short amount of gametime, but I wasn't impressed by anything in it. And the overall game felt easy in the amount of time I tried it. Maybe it's because I don't like RTS, but I don't find it strategic, fun, or interesting. Only reason I received it was because of hype (Christmas present lol), and I wasn't moved by anything.

I can play stuff like FF13 and find it really really interesting and fun because the CG and just overall graphics are AWESOME, and the story is nice, I could play mass Effect 2 because the combat wasn't too boring and the animation (even though not that great) was fun(even though the story bored me almost as much as dragon age was).

The game was boring, the story was boring, and I didn't like even a bit of it. Maybe I'm not just an RTS type of guy. (And I'm saying this for ME not you)

I never said FF 13 was a bad game. I enjoyed it but not to the extent I enjoyed Dragon Age.

Once I get my PSU back I will play the expansion.

And what is wrong with uninstalling a game once you beat it?
I do that for any game that does not have multi player in it.

If the game is enjoyable I could care less about replayability.
The same goes for books and movies.
