diablo 2 started to suck after 1.10.

I'm guessing they just released it late so people are still hyped for D3, anyway it seems more PVM oriented now, although I'm guessing that would be pretty boring for anyone that's played the game for a long time. I reinstalled it a while back and the graphics were cringe worthy haha, probably won't install it again.

Uh, everyone starts anew(for ladder that is). Maybe except for those that use d2jsp for the forum gold crap, which IMO ruins the game more then it helps it.

Normally not much, with the other resets all they really did was change some minor things and make some new crappy runewords. This version, they nerfed Hammerdins, new runewords, made it more PvM oriented and you can no longer get mass exp from ubers and all that, so it will be like the good ole days.

I may try going back to D2. Last time I played I had four 80+ chars on Hardcore US East, a Enchantress, a MF/Rusher Sorc, a Hammerdin and a Smite Pally for getting torches.
Talk about having everything you need in the game down to an exact science. Enchant...kill kill kill...rush to Baal...do Baal runs...get rushed through NM...do Baal runs...get rushed through Hell...do Baal runs.

the best time to get into diablo 2 was back between 1.07 and 1.09 .. BEST days of my life .. I swear it .. walk into a cow room from 1-80 lol .. just stand there.

1.08 was the sweet spot for me; after all the bnet issue and before all the hacked items. Haven't decided if I'll play again; I did start a couple characters in beta but lost interest fast this after way too many years of playing the game.

All ladder characters become non-ladder characters and cannot play with the new ladder characters.

They added a respec system.
You get a respec point after the first mission in each difficultly that lets you reset your skills.

Yea but you do that stuff after you get high enough level. I did forget about cows though. So basically it goes
1) Get enchanted, go on a killing frenzy until Lvl 21-22
2) Have someone do cow runs for you until you hit 28-29
3) Get rushed through normal, do baal runs until around 40-45
4) Get rushed through NM, do baal runs until around 68-73
5) Get rushed through Hell, do baal runs forever
Farming:
Hell Countess for runes.
NM/Hell Mephisto for easy MF runs.
NM/Hell Andariel for some pretty good stuff too.
Pindleskin (never did it, too dangerous for hardcore)

Yeah, but it's not the start i'm talking about. It's a week or two afterwards, when bots start picking up.
