Default Star War: the Old Republic, Free to Play?

    This is NOT a rumor.

According to the talk between BioWare General Manager Dr. Ray Muzyka and Kotaku, Star War: the Old Republic's not-yet-publicized pricing plan will "be more of the traditional business model with maybe some twists as well."

Muzyka said: "With Star Wars: The Old Republic, we haven't announced anything yet. But what we're striving to do, to clarify what I said earlier, is to make sure the fans and the audience that we're trying to reach feel they are getting something they understand and feel that it is a good value for their money — and feel that there is a way they actually want to engage in the experience, both in how they play it and how they pay for it. That's our high-level goal."
Oh no, I hate f2p MMOs which usually have item mall. It will ruin the game.

you dont need to hate them if your not part of them, gamers have the choice if they want to spend money on a free to play game or not, most likely playing a P2P will not let you spend more money but need to grind hard.

seriously, stop reading the bullcrap from mmo-site. the development cost for this game is humongous, it will be suicide to dip into totally f2p with cash shop. and what, free download from their website, without trying to earn even a little from box sales ? Seriously...

    It's called P2P with a cash shop.

It's going P2P, but it may be cheaper with a cash shop (for cosmetics, like what WoW is starting to do).

I will go print a t-shirt with "EA, please marry me" if the game goes totally F2P with cash shop.

That information is kinda misleading, cause The Old Republic won't be F2P, there is just NO WAY for it to be F2P after all the cash invested in it and the fact that it's a AAA mmo made by a great, popular company.

if EA can afford to let TOR to go totally F2P, it means it must have like gazillions USD stuffed in some Swiss bank. well, that's what i think. lol.

    WRONG

Everyquest 2 has already invested more then anyone in just that one game, with their 11 expansions lawl.

Star wars being f2p? That's would be hilarious, I mean I wonder how much the servers would cost to hold like 10 million people. plus the development cost.
Star wars will never be free lol although an online starwars rpg huh. Sounds intresting, I also noticed

someone said FF13(or they said 14) is p2p, so square enix made another mmo final fantasy? looks like i need to get a ps3
P2P games with a cash shop...
    Champions Online
    Star Trek Online
    Everquest
    Everquest 2
    World of Warcraft (account services)
    Lineage 2 (account services)
City of Heroes/City of Villains (Costume Packs and account services)
Star Wars Galaxies (account services and card game thing)
and few others I'm probably forgetting at the moment
