    Many fans of the Final Fantasy franchise have been clamoring for a remake of the seventh game in the series. According to Square Enix that dream may be closer to becoming a reality.

    According to Siliconera, Yoichi Wadda, President and CEO of Square Enix had something to say about the possibility of a Final Fantasy VII remake. Wadda indicated that the company plans on exploring the possibility of remaking the game. He stated, “We’re going to explore the possibility – whether or not we’re going to do it, if we’re going to do it, and the platform.”

    Wadda also said, “Right now we don’t have a clear direction, but many fans have requested we remake Final Fantasy VII." Besides the fans, Yoshinori Kitase, producer of Final Fantasy XIII even expressed desire to helm a remake.

    This is actually pretty big news as the CEO is confirming that the company will be officially looking into remaking the game. This is a bit more promising then developers “expressing” interest in a remake.

    Whoa whoa whoa.

    No where in there did it say they WERE going to make the remake and it definitely will not be soon. Counting that it's not in production yet, it would take at LEAST a year before we see it, and that's if they even plan on pursuing it.

    They said they were LOOKING INTO it, they even said they were LOOKING INTO what console to release on.

    Hopefully it will be a Xbox 360 exclusive for the drama and mega lolz.
