I've got Benign Hypermobility Joint Syndrome so sometimes when exercising I feel a similar pain to Runner's Knee. For me it's an annoying ache feeling in the area between the joint and the kneecap, that's somewhat sharp but still an ache. It's frustrating as hell to get when I'm skating because it means I can't practice my jumps (the landing hurts way too much.)

Sounds painful the way you described it xeno ;-;. I've had "runner's hip" before when I was serious about cross country… swell up so bad.

It's more annoying than anything else since it limits what I can do when I'm exercising. Although if I do try to do anything strenuous when it starts acting up (like a figure skating jump, or jogging) then it really hurts.

But it also means I can do some crazy party tricks with my body (like putting both my arms around my head, or putting a leg around my head, or placing my thumbs on top of the back of my hand, etc.) So it evens out :{D

I'm no expert, but from what little I've read about Runner's Knee that sounds about right. Probably just a severe case you got.

Try resting it for a day or two and if it's just as bad as it is now then I'd call up that doctor and complain.

Another thing you can try is a Nurse's Hotline.
