It will literally take you over a year to get anywhere. People have been playing for years and there is still nobody at maximum level (it's so much of a grind that they have had to add increased exp rates, recently). I say this from experience: if you have a character over lvl 70 in KalOnline, you officially have bragging rights among the MMORPG community.
If you can get past the grind (not that many can), it's quite a fun game. The classes need a bit of balancing end-game wise (if you can call it end-game, since nobody has gotten that far, yet), but there will be plenty of parties and enough things to do to keep you occupied when you're not mindlessly grinding.
There's enough diversity between the four classes to keep things fresh, each class filling it's own niche in pvp and pve. Each class has two job changes at lvl 50, one that is more for support and one that is more offensive.
Theme-wise, it's based (admittedly, quite closely) to a Korean legend. You can call it a generic grinder, because that's basically what it is. The graphics are not state-of-the-art, but when it was made it was quite nice. The music...well, you'll turn that off within the first hour of playing (it's the same taiko drums playing over and over and over and over and over, catchy at first, then really annoying later on).
If you want to sample the game, try any of the number of private servers (there's a lot of them). They will give you a general feel for it.
Did I mention that the grind in Kal Online is legendary?
