I say, tell him/her directly. And if that doesn't work, put some syrup of ipecac on the food they eat when they're not looking, tell them they are getting allergies/viruses that are harmful, trick them into leaving, and get a new roommate.
It would really awesome if said roommate posted here and it was actually the OP that was the "bad" roommate.(Not implying anything, but it would just be great)
