I wonder what the combat is gonna be like.. you cannot tell with those SS <_<. HOpefully it is like those action games, unless this game has easy to bear with grind.

FYI: The is pay to play, just in case anyone is thinking you'll get to play this for free (unless there is a trial).

Will I have to buy a subscription to play Rift: Planes of Telara?
Yes, you will need to buy a monthly subscription to play Rift: Planes of Telara. However, the exact price is still being determined and will be announced much closer to game’s launch.

Rifts? Sounds like Aion to me, read the features. This game has fail all over it.

any game what so ever that is released from 08 to now should meet up to the new standards, people are becoming of this WoW Stand still shit, but click and twitch based gameplay. We have the technology, but shitty f2p companies and people with lousy PCs keep bringing the industry back.
once again, this is going to be a p2p... unless they realize they aren't going to garner enough subscribers.

and the name change sounds horrid. they can actually make a good series of Telara games, for the MMO, Planes of Telara, for a single player rpg, Heroes of Telara etc. Was hoping to see a franchise since the developer has tons of green notes from investors (been following the company since they started).

kind of disappointed, the name sucks big time.

Why post shit that's already been stated twice in the thread? On the same page even...smh.

@EIi Was gonna try to explain a few things, but nah, you've already made your opinion of the game, words probably won't change it.

    Next topic please?

Why don't companies like this realize that 90% of Western MMORPGs wont make it as P2P and that with F2P they will get more then twice the profit and more then twice the community?

more games need to be developed as p2p based imo...

p2p and b2p games that i've played i've enjoyed them 3242342345 more than f2p games and heck i spend less $$ on the p2p and b2p games than i do on the f2p games!

game looks decent but not my cup of tea been switching over to fps games now </3

even the cgi looks only "decent" when fully rendered....i really hope for them that the game has some outstanding features.

So its alot cheaper to play a p2p mmo, because if you want to keep up with the competition in a f2p mmo you gotta have deep pockets.

and yes the rift is some kind of a rip off from WAR and so what? public quests in WAR is amazing. and all mmo's steal stuff from other games, its not possible to make a game thats entirely original.

although the game looks awesome and i will preorder it for sure, it will prolly fail like all p2p mmo's does except for WOW. thats how it is to be an mmo junky you are constantly looking for the next fix but most of the time you end op dissapointed

    Age Of Conan
    Warhammer online
    Aion
    Fallen Earth
    and the list goes on.......
they all failed for various reasons lets just hope that the developers of rift have learned from those mmo's mistakes and flaws
I'm so tired of hearing that comment. Forcing CS purchases to be the best in PvP is not an overpowered item shop. An overpowered or unfair item shop would be game mechanics that break the game along the way without CS purchases, like how the Allods cursed item deal may end up working.

As I've said in a number of threads, if you want to be the best of the best, play p2p games. If you want to find some really fun MMO's for a minimal investment and you don't care if you are the most "uber" player on the server, f2p is an excellent option.

Well this is only my opinion and this game deffinately has the quality to be p2p by the looks of it, i know the graphics isnt everything but it gets them along way,

there is so many reasons why p2p>f2p

not saying that i havent played f2p mmo's that i have enjoyed for along time, but most of them isnt even worth downloading, i mean FFS look at the the f2p mmo's that have been released the last 12 months how many of them still has a big player base?

you gotta make something special to stand out from the crowd and you just cant do that on a low budget crap game from korea.

making a game p2p is in someway a sign of quality, the developers of RIFT are so confident that their game will sucseed that its going p2p,

Blizzard is earning: $150 million a month from WOW

if a f2p mmo is awesome it wouldnt be f2p it would be p2p. Its all about the money
    ofc there is some exceptions

Eh who wants to bet on how many months it will take for this to fail after full release?

    I give it 5 months.

I say 1 year, because even ASDA europe needed 9 months

i cant find a site with the current population numbers, but im pretty sure it has failed.
The grind isn't insane. The grind isnt even harder than what people do on WoW.
I won't deny the fact that there is grind but it's not as hard as some people make you believe. I got to lvl 40 before my sub ran out and i stopped playing because i'm too busy atm.
The pvp is neither unbalanced, nor boring. You're still at the point when Aion just came out dude...the classes are now fine as they are. The pvp is awesome, i'm all for massbattles and zergpvp.

Why ? the developers should just add alot of quests with good rewards instead, thats what the majority of europe/us wants. people who like to grind can just play asian mmo's, or old games like lineage 2 or everquest

ncsoft said that they would modify aion to fit the western market, meaning more quests and stuff like that. But that was a lie which is one of the reasons aion failed.
