The amount of people who actually tried to play both games up to a decent level is very few. You're not one of them.

People will prefer LoL because it is more casual oriented, it's free, and the community at the lower levels is more friendly. The reason why people in HoN are such huge douches is because the majority of them like to play the game competitively, as stats, etc. are recorded. Because of this, if one person fails, or is a new player, etc. the entire team will fail, period, regardless of the actions of the other 4 players. This exists in every team game, even in LoL (try getting out of the average player bracket and you will find as much douchebaggery in LoL as you will in HoN).

I swear HoN gamers are exactly like Darkfall players in the mmo world.

No, the majority of HoN players are just tired of people trashing HoN when they haven't even grasped the basics of the game. You don't go making a fanbase wide assumption on a MMORPG based on 2-3 hours do you?

I played HoN before I even knew League of Legends existed and the only games I wouldn't get cussed at would be the ones when I played with Brazilians.

As far as the games go and not the communitys, I still enjoy League of Legends more. I can say that if HoN was free or followed the same plan as LoL I would not consider switching over.

I also feel like because LoL follows a pay for skins (and champs if you wish) plan that they are encouraged to produce more content. If we look at the number of champs made since release the numbers do not even compare. I checked up on HoN just to see how they're doing and I only saw two new champions. The champions LoL produces are also made to coincide with the communities interests, something HoN doesn't have to focus on. We got 3 ninja champions with a pirate, a plant king, and a vampire-esque champion on the way.

Similarly I like the way the champions play in LoL better. Summoner skills coupled with normal skills add to the pre-game tactics you'd want to set up before a premade. They also use mechanics OTHER than mana to handle heroes. Energy, Rage, (Metal for mordekaiser) have all been great additions so it truly feels like heroes play much differently than each other.

Both me and my brother switched from HoN(even after I learned to play and started raising my PSR) to LoL and we still think it's a great decision. Since then I've gotten about 5 of my college-mates to try it out and consistently do 5s or 3s with them.

I understand some people prefer HoN because the whole PSR thing gets their jollies off but it doesnt hold a candle to League of Legends in my opinion.

Hilarious, some of us play HoN because we believe it is a technically superior, more balanced, and more competitive game. LoL caters to casual players, and has no real competitive community around it (there has been no major money tournaments that I have seen). Meanwhile, HoN has got MYM HoN Pride which is giving out $10,000 USD, and another $40,000 tournament. Yeah, there are people that actually play this game for fun and because we make a little money on the side while doing it.
