Hopefully, (I can only pray) it comes out in the summer. This game makes me... wet?
EDIT: each time I try that it says Oops you seem to have cone to a wrong or deleted page in mm o site. -.-

female norn almost never have beards.
few things I wanna point out:
No it won't.This removes the catch-22 of groups disallowing newer players to join, when those same players can't get better because they can't find a group.
Players will make certain professions "required"There will still be ways to support your allies and some professions will specialize in support but no single profession is always required.
*points to WoW and their "best race/class" combos*I highly doubt that we are going to see any racial bias as far as builds go.
So before you go out saying "ZOMG NO HEALER NEEDED, ZOMG NO BEST RACE, ZOMG NO BEST PROFESSION COMBINATIONS!" take a second and look back at every other mmorpg that boasted these things and look what happened to them.
Reputation: 15Actually WoW has done rather well in this aspect, there is no best race/class combos mainly because Blizz balanced each race's special ability really well, when you are choosing a priest for your party, no wow player will ever be picky about whether the priest is human or draenei. Also the class requirements for a party or raid are greatly loosened up because most of WoW's classes can play multiple roles.
Reputation: 20Waited 2 years for this game already, i really can't wait any longer finished or not just release this game ffs.
Reputation: 26XD damnit come out already, i need something fun
Reputation: 10Huh, I haven't really been that interested in Guild Wars but this seems like a good ordinary mmorpg =0 I'll definitely try it when it comes. I like how they allow the races to be more for just roleplay than gameplay =3 And yay for no monthly fees~
Reputation: 162Well, unless WotLK changed things, people still want priests for tank healing.
Though, been like...almost two years since I played.
So I agree with Arri on this one, races no one can truly say yet.
As for professions, dunno if anyone else remembers these guys, but there was this guild in the early GW days who came up with an AWESOME R/W W/R team, was hardcore. My guild and I came up with a nice team to not only do well in standard bouts, but to take down the R/W-W/R team.
Think we used one or two guys under my W/M build, damage was poor, but could tank like a mother ****er(no duh right? it was just to the point of ALMOST unkillable) I was using my "Ooming Thunder" build, basically I could sap, knock, and kill I think it was two guys if they were close enough to one-another, at the cost of no mana for awhile...oh, and no res sig. Can't remember erics build...erg =s= well anyways, we got to round 4, encountered said team, and we barely pulled through.
We lost when we got to I think...round 6, fought a mesmer elementist team, we almost had them but couldn't pull it off.
TL;DR GW one you didn't need a healer, just most teams used them.
What gave you the idea that I'm just talking about server support?
I'm talking about new content being implemented every 2-3months. I'm talking about new expansions, and better overall gaming experience when it comes to polish and features. I'm talking the way WoW (P2P) provides you with loads of content after the expansion hits. About their continus struggle for balance and bug fixes. Something which Guild Wars 1 (B2P) hasn't really managed to achieve. They just release new "Expansions" which are actually basically new games which involve you starting a new character over again.
Don't get me wrong, my favorite game EVER was Guild Wars Prophecies, before all the expansions and stuff. I just really want this game to be able to upgrade itself fast and quality fashion. Just like WoW managed to. As WoW was released in a sweet-spot in the MMORPG market, with subscriptions, they've managed to upgrade the game to a standard which is used in many comparisons of other MMORPGs and a starnard which many MMOs have struggled to even get close to.
The "always changing world", in my opinion, whon't be such a huge feature to the game as it will not actually affect the whole game. It will only affect areas. And after a while, allot of players will get used to what happens after and before something it done to change the world, if you know what I mean.
I just really want Guild Wars 2 to be successfull and do not think that the B2P model offers them the best way to success.
But judging any game this early will mostly lead to everyone being wrong. I guess it is too early to tell how the game is going to evolve but it's always nice to have a plesant discussion to someone about it.
I'm also trying to make people less hyped about this game. Back when Warhammer was first released, everyone hyped the game to death and were dissapointed by the result which was not the next comming of Jesus, as they thought it was. More hype = More expectations, More expectations = More dissapointment. So remember peeps, don't overhype this :P
afaik it´ll be released next year, no way they´d release it this year. even cb will be 2011.. same for blade&soul
cb will be later this year and release will be next year
Reputation: 162This can be found on the FAQIs Guild Wars an MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game)?
Rather than labeling Guild Wars an MMORPG, we prefer to call it a CORPG (Competitive Online Role-Playing Game). Guild Wars was designed from the ground up to create the best possible competitive role-playing experience. Success in Guild Wars is always the result of player skill, not time spent playing or the size of one's guild. As characters progress, they acquire a diverse set of skills and items, enabling them to use new strategies in combat. Players can do battle in open arenas or compete in guild-vs-guild warfare or the international tournament. Engaging in combat is always the player's choice, however; there is no player-killing in cooperative areas of the world.
Also
The thing that made GW what it is, is Instancing and Henchmen aswell as deep and well designed missions. Those were the most important features, to people who actually could afford games. (You generally pay around 40p a day if you are subscribed to a P2P MMO.)

Why would more income to ArenaNet not benefit Guild Wars 2?
I'm not going to start analysing what you said previoustly, because that would lead to an endless rant about things other than the topic of GW. Anyways, you've made allot of good, valid points in that post. Most of our dissagreements all boil down to taste and personal opinions.
So yeah mate, let's just hope the best for ArenaNet and Guild Wars 2.
And
< - 777Lucky post this.
I was am so excited for guild wars 2 i used to be a very active player on the original guild wars i have all the expansions but the game has just become rather boring being that my account is nearly 4 years old but i hope that the unique style that guild wars brought to the MMO community will be carried over into guild wars 2 with some interesting new features so that it can keep the vets from guild wars and bring in some new players but one major question i must know is if the mounts were confirmed in guild wars 2 because i was so tired of spending nearly an hour sometimes to backtrack because i missed a part of the map
