    Angry NCSoft Billing Errors

I wonder how many people have had problems with NCSoft and purchases for Guild Wars products.

They've screwed up two of my purchases with the most recent resulting in a "permanent" ban on my master account. They fixed the first one after many emails and referrals to their "knowledge base", finally realizing it was their processing error and manually applying the code to my account.

Now tech support seems to take their time responding and of course their phone support hours are 9-5pm mon-fri.

Why is their online purchase system so error prone to begin with? Are they losing enough money due to fraud to have a system in place that generates false positives? I don't know how many others have had problems but they've hit me twice in less than a year.

From my perspective NCSoft's purchase system is worse than broken.

Since I've spent a $100.00 over 4 purchases on Guild Wars products and have nothing to show for it except a "permanent" account ban I'd say that NCSoft is, at best, incompetent.

I am fairly certain I will not be playing Guild Wars 2 since they will probably screw up that purchase too.

If you think NCsoft does horrible billing errors, you should google "mythic billing error" or "warhammer online billing error"

hmm, instead of coming here and complaining about it in an attempt to make NCSoft look bad, why not go to their support page and get help for it? I'm positive they'll be able to sort it out for you.

And their support is far from crap.

    edit: reading through it again....
have nothing to show for it except a "permanent" account ban I'd say that NCSoft is, at best, incompetent.
Sounds to me like your angry at being banned, and trying to "get back" at them.

Nope, I recieved a permanent ban from "payment fraud" as well. I bought Guild Wars through their site 2 years ago, and played it in January. In like March I checked back up on it, and they had given me a ban (after 2 years of having it.). Turns out they had some huge spree of payment fraud bans on people that had nothing to do with it. I got my account back though, still don't play it however. Looking at that ugly armor is just meh.

Actually, even when I bought them I had payment error. I had to buy the first expansion through debit card, then the second through paypal, since they wouldn't take the same payment method two times (literally, the FAQ said they would not accept any payment from one source for a certain amount of time - it wouldn't accept it after 2 months of trying, so I eventually tried paypal).

Actually it is pretty damn terrible, there have been loads of reports with people getting locked out of the Guild Wars/Aion account either because the got 'banned' or forgot a character name with the support completely ignoring their ask for help.

It may have improved, but I highly doubt it.

Well, can't speak for everyone, but both me and my friend have contacted their support numerous times and have gotten our issues solved.

And while I am angry that Tabula Rasa was shut down, a lot of the blame was, in fact, on Richard Garriot, and not on NC itself, seeing as how they couldn't go further with the game without Mr. Garriot's ideas, yet most of the time he was up in space using the money TR got him. So he didn't see TR as a game that needed running, he saw it as a way to make quick money to get himself up into space and after that happened he couldn't care less about TR.
