I always see screenshots of this game and have seen a few vids and I'd be lying to say I wasn't intrigued, however I have absolutely 0 experience playing Dota (I have played WC3 and other RTS but doubt that would help here). I'm wondering how hard it is to get into this game, will I need to do reading before I decide to try or is it user friendly enough that I can just pick up and play?

heh, funny how characters and builds seem to vary from person to person playing the game, I suck at DPS anything that involves carry, etc, but I seem to be pretty good at Tanking/ supporting

Alistar tho.. I hate the character, personally never found him useful, he can initiate pretty well..but his healing...I find it worthless and since he is supposed to be a "tank" he is never targeted, and his damage it's so mediocre, people won't even botter targeting him as "lets burst this guy up before he rapes us"

Mundo on the other way, as a tank he is awesome, and masochism helps SO MUCH, when being focused or not being focused, same with his cleaver, every skill is made for Dpsing, threatening the enemy and tanking the hits with sadism, I have so much fun playing the guy

Gragas..haven't tried him yet, gonna play a practice game and figure him out, rammus well... he is good, but I've never found a niche to play him as

but yeah...can't play a DPS for the life of me, even ashe being the easiest, I hate the squishynes of DPS characters

i play the support role in dota/hon

but for LoL i can't stand playing those roles. i usually love playing dps but when i want to tank

i love playing mundo. i dont use maso much as i like to run cleaver and burning agony a lot but thats just my preference though im not a fan of auto attacks unless im playing jax =P

I usually start go Cleaver > maso > repeat until ulti > agony > cleaver maso > repeat

agony helps when you are kinda fed and gives you a lot of pushing power against creeps, which thanks to warmogs gives you awesomesauce Regen, I usually rush spirit visage first for the cleaver spam tho, then warmogs and misc. Until I get to the point I can tank a tower all by myself

Nidalee is my new favorite hero, she is so good at harassing lanes, and all you need to do is spam her Q skill, once they get below 400 or 300 health go cougar and **** em. Perfectttt combo !

I've been wanting to buy her. Sadly, I'm to discouraged to play to get her, solo queue got me down D: I might actually just pay for her *shivers*

Edit: E charge >> 3 sec cool down Q nuke+mord = 1/3 or 1/4 hp of a tank that has equips >.> it's crazy... on squishies i practically 2 hit them...

Edit2: after checking profile I did the most ever damage in 1 game as poppy... way more than my kat. around 30k more. :O

What item build are you using as poppy? And masteries ^^

I love my double phantom dancer poppy build.
Phantom > Phantom > Infinity. Sometimes might switch Infinity between second Phantom if I need more dps.

That build has got me..1287/316/1022 k/d/a.

So, you would chose survivability over Damage?(Basically, you would prefer to survive more rather than get more kills)

Ap YI DOES get kills. Infact, maybe even more kills than AD yi. His Q does so much damage and with his survivability he can just dive into anything.

welll 5 sunfires is an over kill tbh the last item could void staff tbh to make you hit harder with your existing sunfires so it will even it out and you will do more dmg with your spells

Edit got this off leagucraft

3rd sunfire cape: +50% sunfire dmg -> 2510/50 = 50 gold/%
4th sunfire cape: +33% sunfire dmg -> 76 gold/%
5th sunfire cape: +25% sunfire dmg -> 100 gold/%

Assuming you have the 15% M pen mastery and no other Mpen sources:

30 MR target:

Haunting guise: +16% magic dmg -> 1485/16 = 93 gold/%
Void staff: +9% magic dmg -> 2295/9 = 255 gold/%

55 MR target (just merc threads):

Haunting guise: +13% magic dmg -> 114 gold/%
Void staff: +14% -> 164 gold/%

100 MR target:

Haunting guise: +10% magic dmg -> 149 gold/%
Void staff: +23% magic dmg -> 100 gold/%

In addition, the added survivability of the 5th sunfire cape is not useful, whereas the +70 AP of void staff will improve your spell dmg
Personally I would take a void staff as soon as I don't need more survivability (after the 2ed or 3rd cape).
