    Arrow Need fast help!

Hello, I have a problem. I tried to OverClock my CPU, but of course it ended up badly.... I can't turn on my computer now!

I only increased it from 2.2GHz to 2.5Ghz. When I try starting my computer it ends up in screen asking me if I want to start computer normally, in safe mode or last known good configuration. I tried pressing them all. I end up at Blue Screen of Death.

When I try accesing BIOS I end up at black screen with "WAIT" in the middle. Waited for 20 minutes - nothing.

So maybe there's any way to "restart" the CPU manually without computer help? Doing something inside the computer box or something?

    I would really appreciate help!

    Thanks!!!

    Farewell CPU.
    Farewell MoBo.
    Hello new PC.

You most likely burned through your CPU, perhaps even your MoBo, and you can't fix that.

Take your CPU cooler off and check if there is a black spot on your CPU. If you don't have thermal paste, get a tube before doing this.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

This is why you don't over clock if you have no clue what you are doing.

agreed, you shouldve done some research on your system speccs and how far you could go.

You need to reset your BIOS. You do this by clearing your CMOS, which is achieved by one of two ways.

Open up your PC and try and locate the CMOS jumper. It should be near your CMOS battery. Look for labels or check your MOBO manual. A jumper should be covering two of the three pins, remove it and place it over the formally exposed and centre pin. Hit the power button on your PC (it won't switch on).

Wait a minute, then reseat the jumper back to its original position. The BIOS will return to factory defaults and you should be good to go, if you haven't totally fried it.

If you have trouble locating the CMOS jumper, you can try removing the CMOS battery and reseating it.

If my guide is too vague then just Google "reset CMOS".

"research" on how far you can OC is unnecessary, because all those "guides" and info on the web solely exists to relieve people of their need to boast.

When people boast, usually they also lie.

I removed the BIOS battery and putted it back in. Not the CPU.

My CPU is Amd Athlon 64 3500+
    MotherBoard: ASUSTeK A8V Deluxe
    Bios: American Megatrends inc. 1013,005
