I've never read it, but if you're strapped for cash, I'd say no. There are plenty of online tutorials which'll probably cover pretty much the same stuff presented in the book, without the cost. (Probably a hefty cost as well, those huge manuals often cost like 70.00$)
If you've got the money to burn and nothing else to do with it, and don't feel like donating it to chairty, you can always buy the book. It's a nice thing to have, I suppose, and it'll surely teach you something.
