Reputation: 785No. I know two people who are going to do med school through the Air Force. That's seriously it. Everyone else I know who was in military stuff has long since retired.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwww...........
My nephew's considering it.
I'm not proud.
Reputation: 292I knew two people who died in the war about 4 years ago.
I have one friend who is stationed in Afghanistan right now and a few who are in the air force.
My friend from Afghanistan should be ending his one year period and will be back to visit his family.
one guy i went to highschool/college with is in the army, another guy i knew from uni is in the royal marines. havent seen either of them for ages though.

And incoming government bs about how they are just using military troops to gain profit in whatever. Duhhhhh
But still where would your freedom be without a military hm? Yeah that's right.
mate, i think you read a little too much into that one sentence.
he wasnt bashing the military or people in the military or the military as an institution..... so try to kick a few more braincells into action before you go into RAGING DEFENCE MODE because itll all end in warnings and bans.
this is a thorny issue at best, but that wasnt the topic of discussion. im sure everyone has their own opinions which they are very welcome to and we can all respect equally. nobody is trying to cause offence.
1. He's a school drop-out. I have a Master's. He was duped into the dumb, patriotic belief that serving your country or Queen (Far worse), is a high honour. I was always smart enough to realise that's utter nonsense.
2. We're not living in the 1930s-40s now. My country isn't at threat of invasion, and I wasn't born during the war.
As a result, my FREEDOM has never been threatened. It probably never will be.
I don't support troops any more than I support people who come to fix my sink. It's a job you signed up for, you want a medal? OH, you do? Sorry. No.
So yeah, "that's right."

I want to be a present and have my kid be happy to see me when they opened up the box. Maybe I should go to iraq.
My co-worker is being sent to Kandahar in about a month. He was originally supposed to be going as a technician or something but now he's been swapped into infantry. He's only about 20 years old, and had to basically write up a will for himself..that must be scary at this age.
