    Default Sooooo morrowind or oblivion?

    Now that the epic steam deal is on, all bethesda games including the best free roam RPG's ever made, morrowind and oblivion are up to 75% off

    Small tip, if you don't own these games already and fail to buy them during this amazingly low priced deal, your officially a noob.

    So what do you prefer? myself i prefer morrowind as there are more skills (Spear, medium armour etc) that where removed from the simplified oblivion (still a great game!)

    Never played Morow. Oblivion is still a good one. Dozens of hours to play guaranteed.

    First time I played Oblivion I spent 10h+ by just exploring caves and dungeons while on my way to my first objective when I exited from the sewers. Sometimes I totally went off the tracks...there is just too much to do and explore.

    Morrowind is the only game that ever had a shot at ending my social life at the time.

    So that one.

    But to be fair, I probably would have gotten more into Oblivion had I not lost it.

    Shivering Isles is what the main game of Oblivion should have been.

    I'm gonna say Morrowind > Oblivion. Morrowind has more skills to build up.

    PRECISELY the same reason i prefer morrowind.

    Morrowind = 10/10

    Oblivion = 9.8/10

    Though if you want a bigger world, then I suppose you'd want to go for morrowind. The two play very differently.

    All Bethesda games have crappy coding though, so either way you go you'll have to deal with random CTDs (crash to desktop)
    Ive not onced crashed in Either game with a total gameplay of like 180 hours combined (100 Morrwind 80 Oblivion)

    You could always get both since Steam has a sale on Bethesda games right now. Together they would probably be less than $20 and that includes both as the GOTY edition.

    The assassin guild you can join in Morrowind is the Morag Tong I must say the quest to find them is quite nice.

    I personally prefer the quest system in Morrowind (not having a little pointer showing you where to go and actually having to read the quests and understand the world you're in makes it so much more immersing for me), the more... indepth world (since oblivion is mostly plains and crappy caves) and the atmosphere due to those 2 things and the music felt better in Morrowind. The graphics are indeed starting to show their age, though, even with visual mods :o

    I liked the combat and graphics in oblivion more though, I'd say the voice is a plus, but since they didn't use enough different voices it feels like you're alway talking to the few same persons which is quite annoying and .. well I find it even less immersing than the sweet text in morrowind (if you actually read only though)

    Somehow Morrowind is more.. slow... like a book with more content, full dialogues and an atmosphere created via immersion. Somehow this game feels more complete than oblivion to me just like how it feels better to read a book than watch a movie... to me at least

    While Oblivion is more like an actual game, with less content, but voices, good visuals and actual fighting gameplay.

    oblivion definately. plus expansions.

    i spent more time on shivering isles than the rest of the main game + expansions put together.

    overall i got about 120 hours of gameplay from oblivion before i got bored and quit having gotten everything like 100% invincibility to EVERYTHING lol and murdering all the villagers and soldiers

    ah such a fun game, its bringing back so many memories... like this one house i bought thats full to the ceiling with daedric and glass armor, like thousands of weapons that are basically junk because all the npc's are carrying/wearing them lol. oh man... its making me want to play some more.
