It'll last for a while, though I'm not sure if it's going to be worth to go with a hexacore CPUs yet.

Also, I'm not completely certain on this, didn't hexacores completely support tripple-channel ram? (the i7 does, but isn't able to get everything out of it).

The GPU is rather fine for the moment, unless you want to pay 200usd more for a 5850 with pretty much no real FPS gain at higher resolutions.

I should update this but all my effort went into writing this lousy excuse.

Thanks, no I don't mean to brag about it.. or anything.

The thing is for what I'm gonna do with it (collage wise and job wise) hexacore already has an edge in that.. (photoshop layers, graphic design, media editing).. Since it is .. something differend I was afraid that it would suck on games,.. that's why I asked.

Thanks for all the feedback, I love it!

Looking forward to reading more feedback

and the thing is.. I probably use it for the next.. few years(been using this old p4 for about 8.. and now it's really sucky..) I hope to last 3 or perhaps even 5.. or so..
upgrading ram/v-card.. will make it last a bit more right?

In that case a hexacore will help.
It still doesn't have an advantage in gaming yet though.

And about upgrading, don't worry. As long you'll get a 64bit OS you'll be set for a long time, unless they release the upgrade from PCIe soon.

    Ah that's good to hear.

As for gaming, if it just runs games of this time good eneugh, and it'll last a while running games on good avarage (preffered high tho) quality I'm fine with it all.

Oh and hexacore is still dual channel ram.. is that bad?
