S4 League is a TPS bro.
In the FPS department, the Battlefield series pretty much hold reign over that title, best of all, it's offered in different flavors.

Best FPS to date is Team Fortress 2 for me. If you are looking for f2p then I am afraid there is none.

Yeah I'd say CrossFire is the best bet for F2P, you may like Cosmic Break as a TPS though.

F2P FPS games all suck. Wait for a sale on TF2 and pick that up, got my copy for $2.50 which to me is basically free.
