So, I was recently introduced to a game called Haven and Hearth.

Currently in it's alpha phase , it's a fairly unique 2D isometric indie game which focuses around group play where a community of people will gather resources, build houses, tools and whatnot.

It has some typical RPG staples such as statistics and skills, however, it has no level system and is not a combat-focused game.

In the current state, the game can be laggy at times, the server can crash, there's a couple of bugs here and there but, it's a fun and addictive game which takes a lot of work and time.

It's a very in-depth game and takes a lot of time, effort and dedicate for things to work, I expect a lot of people to not play for very long and quit. But, if I can get some people to stay then, I'll gladly play with you guys.

So, if you're interested in joining the game, the below will show you what to do when you start up.

Easy enough, after you type in "OnRPG" a staircase will appear, right click that.

From here you'll spawn around where I have set my Hearth Fire and your adventure will begin.

Some helpful tips before we begin.

  • Shift Click moves items from one window to another.
  • Control Click drops items.
  • To interact with objects, right click them and select an option.
  • If you're cutting down trees, ensure to go away from the base.
  • Never take anything from anyone's house or anything. It's rude.
  • Use the wood around the camp, do, not start a genocidal campaign against trees.
  • Remember to light the fires you place.
  • Right click to read the runestones at spawn, they'll contain helpful tips.
  • Do not make Querns, we need the stones.
  • Do not make Runestones either.

Depending on the popularity of this and what kinds of things people ask I'll update this according to FAQs and helpful tips.

That's the site, it's simply a case of making an account and pressing "Play" at the top of the website.

Alternatively, there's a client which you can download which will allow you to use custom resolutions and IRC.

Unless you know what you're doing, I'd advise turning off IRC on the client, but, the option is always there.
