    Default Music/iPod Related Question.

This'll probably be a n00b question to some of you, but how can I take the music from my iPod and put it on a new computer without having to reset everything?

You can't. iPods are not designed that way. In order to do so you will have to find a special piece of software that will allow you to take the songs off of it.

Be aware though, sometimes these programs will mess with your iPod, and the ID3 tags of the songs you take off can get really screwed or just erased altogether.

You might be able to use your itunes account and authorize your new computer to load stuff. But I don't remember how effective it is.

Really? I thought it'd be simple.

If you have an ipod with alot of storagespace you could as well copy it directly over (like an usb-drive) and than copy it over to the pc without hassle.

Like I said, so long as you're planning on re-loading them to iTunes, I *think* you should be fine. The file names themselves might be all ****ed up, but I think the ID3 tags are saved.

sharepod works perfectly for me. I've used it like five times, and I never have to retag anything.

unless if you're using a mac of course, then it doesn't work

I just used a program called MP3Tag to fix all the filenames of my songs! Sooooo, as long as your songs have the artist/song name tagged, its real easy to repair any screwed up file names.
