Can any veterans of this game tell me anything about it? I've read a couple reviews, but that doesn't really give one a sense of the community, and how the game actually plays from a personal standpoint.
Does anyone play this?

Reputation: 16enjoyable game if you like to watch your toons kill things for you. i enjoyed it a little too much. haha instead of afking my toons to level i had an OCD to check every few minutes which totally ruined the point of 'afk' leveling.
it is a pretty game and if my client decides to stop freezing on the updates i will play it again.
Reputation: 54It's actually a stupid idea to "AFK". If you actually use your skills and run around killing stuff, you see it's more than just a "LOL COME BOT YOUR WAY AROUND" game. Max level? I forget what it is, but you surely can't bot your way to it. It's not just three characters put together to make it easy to... not do anything. It's actually full of strategic options and different types of classes that, combined, can let you play the game however you damn well please.
If you join just about any active clan, then it'll be super fun. ^_^ Though I quit because of certain reasons. If you're not out with friends / clannies and not hunting for bosses, then you'll pretty much be afk leveling.
Reputation: 10Ah, I guess that decides it. It looked interesting, but I don't like games where you can just afk bot your way to victory.
Reputation: 228You can't actually "bot ur way to victory"... The AFK thingy don't even pick up items for ya (unless you have a cash shop pet).
You still need tactics on how to separate your team out for boss fights and there's quite a few strategies needed. And the good stuff mostly drop from the bosses and dungeons.
Was once amongst the top families in the Asian server, I bet most people here didn't event hit expert or master =/
Was one of the few to even get close to vet before they made it p2p. They shortly made it f2p afterwards and I lost the motivation to even play it at that point.
My friend plays it and theres like NO ONE in the newbie areas.... Hes only seen 2 other families and hes level 20 now. sad.
One of the first bunch to play the game from K2
Had our subscription turned into cash shop gold instead.
Guess game turned down hill since. But i left the game cause of vacation before that happened.
From my experience, it was one of the best mmorpg i've played out there. Even though there aren't much character customization. The tactics involved in pvp/gameplay enviroment/graphics/and soundtrack absolutely makes it one of the most pleasant game ever.
I was guild leader of the largest guild ingame before cash shop came out, we had lots of fun playing together. If i recall correctly, we were the first guild to do the raid quest (Suppose to get everyone a cape to wear after guild levels up) About 15-20 of us went and got wiped clean by the giant golem. Highest were lvl 60s back then.
P.S Our favourite guild hunting place was the "maid mansion" awesome music inside and everyone went to get the maid outfit.

Reputation: 54If anyone DOES want to try it or whatever, I'd recommend Granado Espada from IAHGames instead of SotNW.Higher EXP rate, lots more content, and more active community.
I played Sword of the New World on and off since it was still a P2P game but recently quit for good this time. I enjoyed most of the time I was there because I set personal goals and didn't trying to keep up with the big spenders. I had the first Master level Soho on my server as that was my goal and my legacy. Unfortunately the game has clearly gone down hill. The pay 2 win mantra has totally taken over this game. Can't compete without boatloads $$$ anymore so I had to call it quits.
96elite = $15
ELB = $200+
ELN = First Born Child
If you wanted to play Sword you would need to have played it before things got out of hand.
the music in this game is beautiful and catchy. i got to 90 just so i could hear all the msuic i could. then my game started messing up.
its just like any other game.. i dont get it.. u dont need money to play u need time u can trade most all cs in game so yea... i baught all my gold codes from people in game...... and what server did u play? also.. with how many raids there were and how open they were to the community.. whether ur in the top guild or not you could ezily get urself good items... to sell for elb eln... 96e farm those ur self not hard.. id got for 92e anyways then just upgrade straight to 100e
