berserk is pretty dark, well atleast the manga. the animated series is more about the character's past on how he got to be the way he is, and how the world got to be distorted with all types of monster all of a sudden.
hellsing is basically an organization hunting monsters, where their main hunter is a vampire. blah blah blah. anyways, IMO, the OVA is far better than the TV series.
outlaw is okay. it's been a very long time since I last watch outlaw star, so the storyline is pretty hazy for me.
as for dub action pack series recommendation similar to what you want, no idea atm. if you don't mind gloomy, check out Casshern Sins and Claymore. most people that like samurai champloo don't like samurai seven, and vice versa, no idea why. try gungrave.

outlaw star was amazing.
i suggest outlaw star and trigun definetly.
