are there any browser games without needing to check it everyday?

Basically I am looking on a game to tide me over before I switch out my computers so I do not want to download much. but all the browser games I find tend to be like you play a bit and wait a few hours and pay and wait, and you have to check back every day.

I am not too picky on the type of game as long as it is really fun and I can play for a few hours, and miss a few days and nothing horrible will happen.

I can't say that I am sold but will give it a shot. I get the feeling it is the type people will either really love or really hate.
