    Default PC's and MMORPG's

Hey everyone, i have a really crappy laptop that can barley run FlyFF on low settings, and i really want to play better games like RoM, WoW, Allods and other decent graphic games on decent Frames Per Second, so i was thinking about getting a new PC! =D

I'm occasionally gonna play a First Person Shooter now and again, might get CS:S, and probably play AVA, anyway, i wanted to get some opinions on these PC specs.

    - Power Supply: OCZ StealthXStream II 600W
    - CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 Quad Core 635 2.90GHz Processor
    - Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-MA78LMT-US2H AMD 760G (AM3) Motherboard
    - RAM: Corsair XMS3 4GB (2x2GB') DDR3 PC3-12800C9
    - Hard Drives: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache
    - Graphics Card: Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5770
    - Sound: 7.1 Channel Sound (On-Board)
    - Optical Drive: OcUK 22x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black)

    Thanks for all your opinions!

I hope it will run some MMORPG's on medium settings with good frames per second.

Get a bigger HDD (more space IS NOT a luxury!) with 32mb cache.

Also, if you want your PC to last quite a bit longer/more powerful get the AMD X6 1050T. It's double the price on newegg compared to your current CPU though.

I'll have to buy the PC as it is, only the GFX card is something they could replace, i'll need to buy a new HDD after purchasing the PC with those specs, then have to install it myself (Which i don't fancy doing with a new PC) Is that HDD really bad?

5770 is a good card, dual 5770 can run metro 2033 on max settings.

and you never buy a 500 gb when a 1 tb drive with 32mb cache cost almost the same. (there arnt much of a difference in price)

The HDD is not bad, its just you can get 500 gb more for a few more dollars.

If you buy it from a local store (and not some big chain of stores) you could try to ask if they're willing to do it, providing you pay the difference.

Or you could ask someone you know that has a bit of decent PC experience to build it for you if you don't know how to yourself.

I hear ya man, i would upgrade the HDD if it was an option, thanks for the advice <3

That PC costs $948/£613, So i'd say it's not toooo bad, although i admit if there was more upgrade options i'd get more for my money.

It's decent but you could do better for the money, if you build it yourself you could probably get a Phenom II X4 955 setup for not much more. Personally if i was in the market for a new comp today i wouldn't get anything less than a i5 750 and GTX 460 setup.

You could play around with some of the DinoPC builds if you're not comfortable building your own:

    http://www.dinopc.com/shop/pc/pcs-ga...?idcategory=94

They offer a i5 760 setup for less than the one you selected at Overclockers UK, i would just switch the PSU to a 700W OCZ.

    Intel and NViDiA sucks imho.

-edit- AMD has better power for the money then Intel and NVIDIA has very powerhungry cards compared to the ATI cards.

Thanks for the link to that DinoPC site, looks like i could get that AMD X6 1055 Processor, HD 5770, 1TB hard drive and an installed WiFi card for almost the same price.

    I'd rather stick with Nvidia.

They have better drivers and their cards do better with directx 11.

The gtx 460 1 gig version easily beats the 5830 and even at times beats the 5850.

Though when it comes to cpus I usually purchase a black edition amd cpu.

I have used ATI for 15 years and Nvidia for 9 years and they are both good brands.
