If it's something like this then yes. I'm a sucker for boxes anyways ;o

I went to "Saturn/Mediamarkt" Today, and i was like WTF
So many F2P MMO's in Boxes, around 10-20€
And the BEST thing is, the things you get, are mostly BULL****

I only would buy a box, if i already played the game a long time, and know that i will play it even longer.

Cuz, Sometimes you think, WTF GREAT F2P, 1month later, suxx

I dont pay for a game that features a game-impacting cash shop
If the game is gonna be B2P, it better has no cash shop or if a cash shop is mandatory, it just sells pure vanity items.
the typical asian cash shop in a B2P game is a deal breaker for me

I have no problem with P2P nor B2P, I just have problems with cash shops...
We must go forward, not backward. Upward, not forward. And always twirling, twirling, twirling towards freedom!

    Currently Playing:
    - Guild Wars 2

    Waiting for:
    - Warhammer 40K: Eternal Crusade

For a game that just came out, no.
For a game that I tend to play on and off like DFO, Lost Saga and the like, sure thing.
Heck, a Lost Saga bundle with a random hero figurine would be pretty sweet. :3

If it's a F2P and it comes with goodies then yes. If I can just download it then no.

I like collecting the boxes/discs but don't buy them if you can download it for free legally.

I want a Knight or Reaper figurine.

On topic...No I would never buy one. A F2P game is just that..a F2P game. They should never attempt to sell boxes.

Doesn't mean you can't feel attached to a character or group of characters, though. I'm positive there would be a lot of people buying DFO/Mabinogi/Maple Story packages if they contained cards, figurines or art books.

I would rather buy them out of the box then.

Oh, yeah. I guess I would be more tempted to buy the merchandise alone. :P

My name in LS is my name here.

Depends on the game, my respect for it and my actual level of fanboy-ism, I'd so ****ing buy a DDO box if it included perma adventure sets or a mabinogi box if it included.... any-****ing-thing :o

Damn, I'm starting to get an urge to play mabi >.<

Even though i've never seen such a box.. If it is worth it, why not? Having some real box, cd, manual etc to hold in your hand is always nice. Some old games like Morrowind have earned an eternal place in my room.. only boxed games can get that! :o

I bought a LoL collector's pack, came with a mentionable amount of RP, 20 champs, a manual, the game disc, a champ skin, 4 tier 3 runes (With no level requirement) and a collector's map. It was 13.99 CAD, seemed worth it to me since I like LoL lol.

no because F2P mmo's dont have a life span longer then 2 weeks to most unless you have low expectations for a game imo.

Maybe. If it had some nice cash shop bonuses too. It is nice to have the posters and stuff for your room. But there is always the fear of the game going under.

Isn't not having to deal with crappy free games the reason for buying retail games in the first place?

For me, it really depends on several factors. I would definitely like to to able to download and play the game for free beforehand to see if I like it and be able to apply the bonuses from the box to my existing account. It would also definitely have to have an artbook and/or soundtrack CD.

However, I think the biggest factor in my decision would be the price. If it was $50+ it probably wouldn't be worth it for me. On the other hand, if it had $20 of cash shop money/stuff in addition to physical extras (CD, artbook, figurine, etc), and cost somewhere around $40 I would probably buy it.
