Default Xfire bought by new people

[00:16] Xfire was bought by new owners today. Most of the team that has built Xfire over the last six years is leaving. We enjoyed working for you for the last 127 releases and wish we could stay to create the next 127. Good bye, good luck, and game on. --- The Xfire Team

August 2, 2010--Xfire has been purchased by another company. Most of the team that has brought you Xfire for the last 6 years is leaving, including me. We've enjoyed our time and I personally am sad that I was only able to do 127 releases. Good bye and game on!

It's the part of the team that's leaving saying goodbye. Xfire will still continue.

Offering programming and content for television, motion pictures and digital platforms, Viacom's world-class brands include MTV Networks (MTV, VH1, Nickelodeon, Nick at Nite, Comedy Central, CMT: Country Music Television, Spike TV, TV Land, Logo and more than 120 networks around the world), BET Networks, Paramount Pictures, Paramount Home Entertainment, DreamWorks and Famous Music. More information about Viacom and its businesses is available at www.viacom.com.
This a company MTV sold them too. Totally new people. MTV is old news.

How is something not bought by a new owner? Like, they buy from themselves?

    I still think Xfire sucks.

    I don't need an in-game chat, I have Steam.
I don't need a program to take screenshots for me, I have a keyboard.
    I don't need a video-taking program, I have Fraps.
I don't need another chat client, I have MSN, Facebook, Steam, and AOL.

Eh, xfire sucks anyway. There's MSN, icq, yahoo ect, why would someone need a messenger especially for gaming? Useless for me

Getting a new owner is not the same thing as getting a new team.

So maybe MTV bought them a while ago, but the team didn't change until today?

Eh, I like Xfire. It isn't that much of a system hog and it's unobstrusive. I like the group chat features and the in-game chat.

Oh no.. you have to buy a game to use it? How horrifying!

What do you use steam for? To play games, right? So if you don't have a steam based games, why do you need to use it?

Therefor it makes complete sense that you need a game to add friends.

They are right for doing so.

You suck for not having a game on steam!

    I mean wtf?! You don't have tf2?!?!?...

You don't deserve friends on steam!
