I haven't tried DDO but LOTRO is a great game. I had a lot of fun playing it.

I thought DDO was cool, never played LOTRO, but you could play DDO til LOTRO comes out of beta.
In my opinion, LOTRO's grind is a bit tedious, you know, the typical "Go kill X monsters" type of quests. (Not taking into account the storyline quests, mind you)
DDO, on the other hand, has a less boring grind as it isn't your regular point and click game.
It's a matter of taste, though. Both games are great and I really suggest trying the two of them before making an opinion.
DDO is literally dungeon based. You also need to left click to attack
Reputation: 14Well, I didnt play LOTRO yet, but DDO is very bad for meh. It gets very annoying that you dont have open world to discover, but you need to go talk to portal to send you to dungeon.
Also DDO has a different formula than most MMORPGs out there. Like Will, Reflex, Fortitude Saves, Feats and all that .(at least compared to Perfect World MMOs/Korean MMOs)
Reputation: 10DDO is a old school RPG Dungeon based with many concepts like NeverWinter Nights.
BUT Free players have many contents limited...not about how many characters, not about lvl cap, gear...
DDO limit you a lot in Dungeon and Quest wich at least for me its important.
but you should give a try to DDO isnt like others MMORPG.
