Sorry for randomness, but I was listening to some OST and it got me very nostalgic..
this music brings those days back(when I was a lazy kid who didn't play sports but stayed insdie allday playing video games)

Anyway, what makes this game so great?
The storyline is just so great, betrayal!, war, friendship... its all there, its such an interesting game and keeps you hooked...
Little grinding.. yep..this game doesn't require hours of grinding, like Final Fantasy games where you gotta spend hours to gain certian levels (I'm not bashing, I love FF games) the way it works... in certian areas.. you can reach a certian level faster than others.. so in the first area.. you will quickly reach level 5... after than.. the exp will slow down drastically until you fight monsters in another area.. a little difficult to explain.. but trust me.. not alot of grinding.
There is also a war mode(it plays like tactics or something) .. basically you control armies turned based style in certian events..
I really like that the series is somewhat based around war and not just "4 Heroes are going to save the world" .. it makes it less cliche and makes it feel more... "realistic"(which I mean is... its more likely an evil dude to take over the world by over throwing a king and making his empire do evil deeds, like taking over the world, than an evil dude who transforms into a giant demon and single handendly takes over the world)you will get the impression "oh shit how is Ryo going to defeat this massive army when he barely has supporters?"
the soundtrack.. the best thing your ears will ever hear! hands down
there is also multiple endings... like I said the game is based alot around friendship...so its a diffrent turn.. other than the typical guy and girl quiet love final fantasy games have...(although Suikoden 1 takes friendship so hardcore, I was given the impression alot of the characters were gay)
This game is an excellent RPG. Best on out of the series no doubt i reckon. It was my personal favourite a few years back, since it was an excellent PS2 game. I encourage any RPG lover to play this one, you will enjoy it plenty
Suikoden 2 is the greatest J-RPG EVER MADE
