    Default Gaming affecting personalities?

Just a sudden thought, don't kill me.

Do you think that MMOs, I say that because of the online interaction, can affect one's personality in anyways?

If you get addicted, yes. If you play casually, I don't see anything wrong with it.

yes, because people you talk to can't hit you in the face.

i don't really think it changes your offline personality though.

I'd say the way you interact with people might be different. Your more shy, less likely to make new friends, face to face at least. You could be lazy, or just have no motivation to pursue anything?I don't know.

I'd say that they can, but no more than any other experience potentially can. For example, in the short team getting PK'ed over and over while trying to quest/grind in an open-PvP game will probably make you somewhat irritable for a few minutes/hours.

For a more long-term example, being the leader of a clan/guild could permanently instill a deeper sense of responsibility into a person that would likely carry over into real life.

It really just depends on you. Your temper, your own personality, etc.

It does. Actually if you play very competitive games you'll become much more aggressive towards others.

it depends on you, and only you. I dont have a hard time making friends or talking to them. What I find hard is making friends in MMOs. never finding a longstanding/trustworthy, party/group/guild/team/clan.

All I know is that I can only speak English and Spanish because of games. Otherwise, I would only speak portuguese.

idk gaming changed my life. I mean I greet my co-worker "En Taro Adun" and we say "For the Horde" most of the time (even though I'm in the alliance).

Also one thing gaming did to me was being able to type without looking at the keyboard.Playing CS 1.6 and MMOs did that to me.

Nah. I'm a good guy in real life and in games, which is why you will hardly find me PKing or harassing other players. :3 Even in games like LoL I'm not as explosive as one could be.

Also, games can inspire you. As Seeric said, being the leader of a clan in a game will make you feel like you have a responsibility which will inspire you, causing you to gain confidence, causing you to have a slight change in personality.

When I'm addicted to any game I'm kind of more anti-social and aggressive towards my friends, I get easily pissed off. I'm still a nice guy I guess, both online and IRL. I just need to play casual instead of hardcore.

I think it depends on what kind of mmo gamer you are and what kind of mmo you actually play. For example, I generally play pvp based shooters, and I'm not that much of a hardcore gamer and really only play with friends here and there. My friend, as another example, is a harcore pvper in World of Warcraft and boy does he rage hard, whenever I used to go to his house, I would be playing something on his ps2 or 360 and he'd scare the crap out of me with all of his nerdrage he'd fuume over vent, specially when it came to Arena. :/
