Default Sony VS. Microsoft consoles (yeah sorry xD)

I know this is going to end up like some fanboy flame thing. I just had to point this out. In terms of consoles sony is way better. They hardly break and when they break you can't fix them easily yourself (that doesn't matter though). In terms of firmware flash/modding them it's hard, not impossible, just hard. They produce less sound and are way better with heat.

Microsoft consoles have alot of errors. The most common thing is the RROD and when your outside the warrante they actually make your pay €100,- to just let them fix something that isn't even that expensive to fix. Everything that breaks in the console can be fixed easily by yourself, and that's the only good thing of their consoles, cause their stuff breaks... ALOT. In terms of firmware flash/modding, it's the most easy consoles around and even animals that have thumbs can do it. In terms of heat and sound, they produce the most and are freaking annoying.....

So what do you think is actually the best of the 2 console wise??

btw, This is just my personal oppinion, and my grammar still sucks as hell xD

I think it depends on what you want to do. Graphically, there isn't much difference. I have always had a better online experience with the XBOX, just because more people haves mics, and having to pay for service usually means better service. (Example: Greasy $20 ******s in alleyways, or clean $2000 ******s in Vegas.)

Depending on the games you play you may find that the game selection may suck for either of the consoles, but this is more of a prefrence. I only own about 4 games for my PS3 because I can't find anything worth buying.

I have no real problems about either system though, they do there job, they do it well, and they aren't very far from each other in the way they achieve this.

EDIT: I do think the PS Move is better than Project Natal (or whatever they renamed it to), just because you can do so much more with a controller.

This here is a contest between all the consoles ever made by the companies is it ? When I compare PS3 and xbox 360, I consider them as almost equal, I only have a preference for PS3's exclusives.... But if we add in the xbox, the PS1 and the PS2, sony wins by far.

PS1 and 2 have some of the best games ever made. (some... not to say most) (Yeah, mostly RPGs)

Damn... I feel an urge to play Arc the Lad twilight of the spirits naw T_T

    What's the point, though?

Xbox360s don't need to be fixed every year. The newer ones seem to last. Isn't the elite version much less likely to RROD too?

The PS3 changes vastly depending on how much you spent on it. I got the 80GB and my friend got the 40GB, I couldn't believe all of the things only I had access to. It's not just a HDD change.

The Xbox Elite is the same price as the PS3 after you spend $100 for the wireless internet addapter. PS3 has hardware that the xbox doesn't, all of the slots for SD chips and such, blu-ray player, wireless internet built in, and yet it's hardly anymore than the xbox.

Anyone know how much a blu-ray drive costs to put in a PC?

The 40GB has no slots for memory cards of any sort, I have a peice of the case the flips to reveals quite a few different options, where as the 40GB has a solid peice there. I wasn't sure if the 40GB had wireless built in because my friend never had a router and I really had no reason to check.

And game wise is completely opinionated. No matter what you think you know. You might enjoy Naruto, but I don't.

That probably is true. I don't even have Gold live

Not many of my friends are gamers. Most of them are on par with me - stuck in the past with our SNES/NES/PS1's.

My brother on the other hand has had to replace his console 4 times whilst I'm still on my first. He always leaves the plug sockets on and therefore they break.

So from that you can see that the problem with the RROD is overheating the power pack. Taking good care of the console will result in it never breaking.
You do know that the RROD is caused bu the x-clamps and not the power pack right?xD It really depends on the xbox 360. Mine had the RROD, wich I fixed myself for 6euro and I also had the 'unreadable disk' error wich is caused either by the lens, or the motor in the DVD drive.

What you just said about Killzone, I could say about every Halo game ever made. It's genuinely the most boring series I've ever played.

It's Fisher Price does Star Wars.
For fans there is a lot of lore through the books that when combined with all the games actually opens up a rich universe.
I don't see how Master Chief being faceless damages the character when it only makes him more likeable, he clearly does have charisma as it makes him the most famous gaming icon of the last two generations.
He isn't off course the only character in the game with Johnson, Cortana and Arby all adding to the list.

Killzone suffers straight away from the PlayStations lack of triggers and although the developers arn't to blame the gameplay suffers from it.
The way the characters move felt clunky and weighty not unlike Bad Company. In Killzone the wall seem to painted with super glue which you face gets stuck too when you attempt to take cover.

The FPS genra though isn't won by the number of exclusives as there is huge support from third party software, but with a smoother online setup and a controller which hasn't been the game for the last 10+ year and still without triggers I have to give the win to the Xbox.

And yes Darksin. My post was my opinion, you probably could tell that by me being the one posting it...

Just had to quote this part cause it made me laugh. I've had both a fat and slim PS3 die on me, (fat one was YLOD, second one was a power supply failure) and yet my 360 I've had since 2006 is still going strong.

As for being OT, I'd have to say Sony. Current console wise, the 360 is way better than the PS3 imho, but I can't overlook how amazing the PS1 and PS2 were, so I'd have to give the overall nod to Sony.

Both my PS3s were treated fine, had a nice spot on my entertainment shelf and were used very little, a lot less than my Xbox ever was. Shit, my PS3 sat at home as I took my 360 to friend's houses and what not.

Not saying it's untrue how dying PS3s are less common occurrence, just saying it's kinda funny that I had an opposite experience.

If you've nothing to add, Yuk, add nothing.

Continuing your grudge, though, is silly. It won't end well.

This generation of games Mater Chief is an iconic character. He has been the mascot for the 360 and gamers will know his name more so the Ryu. He may not be a big as Ryu in his prime but is a damn sight bigger than him now espically with the previous and last generation of gamers.
The fact is gamers don't care if YOU want to see who he is, the idea is it could be anyone under that suit.

I've said this before of course what I'm posting is my opinions.
There is no right or wrong answer but being completely neutral is a bit silly. Everyone has a favourite.
The only one not calm here is you. Swearing and insulting? Yeah, you're so chilled...

There IS right or wrong, though. You can prove who is more known and iconic, and Chief is not one. Fact, observable fact. You know that random members of the public know characters like Mario, Sonic and Ryu, even without being gamers.

You have absolutely no counter for that so you throw insults at me personally.

I never once said it was objectively bad or good, nor that you couldn't do anything. It is a factually generic game AND story, though. You know what "Generic" means, right?
