Somewhere 2011 is it.. but somehow, that's interesting, open world action.

and FFXIV is just the dream of a PvE.. storyline, cutscenes... freedom.

There won't be a fatigue system that will only let you play 4 hours a week. That just plain stupid for any company to have that in their game. If there is a fatigue system, then it either the combat system where you have certain amount of TP that you can use and it will recharge as the battle continue and if you use skills that take up more TP then you have to wait till it recharge to use that skills again or use the skill that use less TP to do more actions but less dmg. As this point of the beta, a buddy of mine play the beta for more than 30 hours a week and this was the last beta before the open beta in september.

Remember there is no auto attack in FF XIV so each attack use up a certain amount of TP to perform it.

I'm not someone who cares about my level, If I'm having eneugh fun, I'm in.. Didn't feel bothered with the system in beta 3 at all.. Explored a bit of the storyline, tried a few classes.. I'm sold.

Guild Wars 2 is by far superior. With the latest gameplay videos with the whole dynamic event they implemented in the game, it's absolutely remarkable. There is no class that "heals" and everyone has some sort of ability to heal themselves or others.

I also like the fact that when you lose your health, you're in an "injured state" and you can still fight. Even though your moves will be weaker, you basically have a last stand. And everyone can revive everyone. I love how your character development will effect your character's storyline from the beginning all the way to the end.

I'm not saying FFXIV will be bad but it will look like any other generic grinder, etc, etc. Plus you have to pay 10 dollars a month while GW2 is B2P.

If you haven't looked up anything about GW2 go to the website and bask in it's glory. At first you may be pessimistic saying to yourself: "How is this possible? How will this even work out in the end?" Apparently, it's all working out. Check out the Human Gameplay Demo:

it isnt even a contest, GW2 all the way.

I wouldnt touch FFXIV with a ten foot pole, they can keep their asian grinder gameplay, their forced altaholicism and their 8 hour xp restrictions and shove it where the sun never shines. and anyway GW2 looks a billion times better.

neither of them gets my vote for now cause i dont think these games will have what im looking for but we'll see.. gotto test them first to confirm :P

square used to make good FF games but they become worse with every title. NCsoft on the other hand has a whole list of crappy games with crappy mid-endgame content released and shut down again like the greedy bastards they are but with some luck they will do it right with GW2, i never liked gw1 either though

    Both.
Guild Wars 2, according to the developers, will be buy to play. If I get bored of FFXIV, I'll just hop on GW 2, and viceversa.

GW2 by far. Seeing that amount of quality for a b2p mmorpg, and the fact that it seems to be the only mmorpg so far(except perhaps KoTOR) with a proper engaging story-based gameplay, makes it a pure winner.

Yes, FF11 had a story too, but I couldn't shake the empty feeling in between the quest, and the general lack of direction. Nothing I've seen from FF14 changes that impression.

However, I do prefer the general artstyle and setting of FF14 - But, that just isn't enough, and certainly not for a P2P game.

FFX14 is going to be released in a month while GW2 doesn't have a release date yet, I'm going to play FF14 until GW2 come out.

I voted the 3rd option but hell if GW2 is B2P then I'll buy it just because its B2P.

after the ffxiv fatigue unveiling i retract my vote and choose ffxiv. i can only play 1 hour a day, 2 on weekends and their system makes it so i can be the same level as someone that spends 60 hours a week. i love SE.

lol what? read the article again, you will be nowhere close to someone that plays 60 hours a week by playing 10 a week. and by nowhere close I mean millions of miles away from him...
