    Default Fan-made Zelda MMO

We've seen the Sonic and Knuckles 3D fan-made video, which made its way across the internet. Now, a fan-made Zelda MMO is being created and is in the works. "Zelda World", adequately named, will allow Zelda lovers around the world to meet up in this MMO.

The project is in its early stages of development and is said to allow the player the use of a bow, shield, and a sword, explains Zelda Informer.

Currently, there is nothing notable that was said to stand out from the MMO, this soon in development, but it is one that is definitely worth keeping an eye on. That is, if it's not shut down ahead of time.

It's just hard to make a decent MMO out of a single-player console game, unless you totally change up the game's schematics like Blizzard did. Just copy the theme and make a whole new world and game mechanics. I wish this game the best, though!

(still waiting for good .//hack MMO...)

Yeah, going off the base Zelda map isn't too great of an idea, but still... it could possibly work with a little time and effort.

off topic: Damn straight man "The World" would make an epic mmo.

This isn't a MMO at all, Looks like this Tanya is just saying it is to get more hits on her blog maybe?.
Because the developers of the game themselves have said that it isn't.
"Two things I'd like to mention, Zelda World is not an MMO, there has been articles and people talking about Zelda World being an MMO and I'd just like to reinforce that it is in fact not an MMO. Zelda World is also not a mod, its a stand alone game, not a mod of another game.

Their goal however is to eventually create a multiplayer version of OOT and MM mainly for co-op play. They want to give players the chance to eventually create their own quests and content aswell.

The game is currently using the Torque engine and basically plays like a death match game at the moment.

And as I was saying it won't go that far just being "f2p". They will stumble upon great obstacles at some point.

They won't have any problems legally as far as i can see , seeing that the players host the servers.

You must first ask if it will ever see the light of day.

And you really think "player" hosted servers will do it? Knowing Zelda popularity there will be a lot of people and they won't be able to support the players in technical way. They will have to buy better hardware, rent it or w/e which will cost money and I really, REALLY doubt it they will pay that from their wallets.

And if the game will still be single player anyway it won't last long imo. Sure fan-made games are great, admiring people who actually had the patience and time to make it. Most players will switch to emulators and play the original old series when feeling nostalgic after trying this game out. It will be more like a travel index "Go re-play the old series".

Can't they get sued for using the N64 version o the game? And it'd be better if it was co-op not and MMO or whatever.

So was everyone, and it's not like Nintendo is ever going to make a PC game, let alone an MMO.
