Google up some tutorials about cleaning your laptop. When I cleaned mine it wasn't heating that much, but still. For me changing OS helped. I went from XP to W7 x64 and now the temperature is way lower than using XP. Although I too use those 3$ cheap cooling pads. Not that they help big time, but there is a small difference in temperature.
And wth. My laptop is half shittier than yours and runs good.
Anyway, download Speedfan to check your temperatures the whole time.
The last thing you can do is play on lowered graphics. For example I play HoN on everything lowest, but highest resolution and the temperature is always around 50-60 Celcius after long gaming hours compared to my 90-100 Celcius before. If your screen suddenly turns black that means your video card has been overheated and you MUST lower the graphic settings if you still wish to keep your computer alive and not torture it to death. If you still get the same problem then man up and move on. You cannot play it then.
