Mozilla Firefox 4 Beta.

Not a really huge fan of FireFox, but I know the majority of you guys are.

The Mozilla team released the fourth beta of Firefox 4 today but don’t expect feature freeze code until September.

According to meeting notes posted today, the team aims to release beta 5 this Friday and is aiming to post the feature-frozen beta 6 on September 10.

The project — which held its weekly meeting here today — will consider adding new features until August 27 but the intent is to wrap up work on the three core elements for Firefox 4: delivering high performance, a compelling user experience to drive upgrades and JetPack SDK, which is the SDK that allows developers to use advanced web technologies to create Firefox add-ons.

Those three priorities have been addressed but some of the other code developed since 3.6 may be moved to 4.1 or 4.5 to enable a speedy delivery of version 4.

“Beyond those three things, nothing can make us delay Firefox 4 any longer than we have to,” said one lead Mozilla developer on the call, who added that there are tons of new features in Firefox 4 that will make it a strong rival to forthcoming competitors IE9 and Chrome 5. “It’ll be a huge step for us.”

Hardware acceleration is expected to be on by default by beta 5.

I don't know why I still prefer Firefox.. Chrome is way better. Guess I'm just so used to clicking the same button...

I use Opera myself.

And seriously, I find it better then anything out there.
Has the looks, and more importantly, has the tools and speed.

Opera was slower and took more RAM, i dont know why.
Chrome, well, lol. It's Google, i don't think i need to add more :|

I've been using Firefox Beta 4 for a while now, it's awesome. I always used Firefox, best browser there is.

I like chrome as I find it faster, uses less ram and I like the look.

I also like how it splits up the application processes of chrome.

Pretty much the only reason I use opera right now. :/

It was a pain to get that plugin for firefox working every beta. :/

When you are in a different room you tend not to be able to press F5.
When you are out with friends you tend to have a hard time pressing F5.
When you are watching TV, you tend to have a rough time pressing F5.

I don't mind pressing F5 after alt-tabbing. You must be incredibly lazy if pressing a single button is so much trouble for you.

Quite alot of games are very crash happy when you press alt-tab, simply takes a while to get back to (screen flickers for 10 seconds) or plainly don't even like dual monitors.
Not to mention the fact that you're going to wipe your dungeon/instance group just to see if someone posted something on a forum.

It's not so much about being lazy, it's more about efficiency. (not quite the right word here, but I'm sure you'll get it Moa)

Seriously, when you alt-tab out of one, and re-open, you wait 15 seconds for it to play the audio, then another 30 seconds to fully load the game, and then another 10 seconds to let it get to decent FPS again.

Drachir, I know the addon. It just gave me alot of headaches with FF updates and the addon update running 4 weeks behind. :/

was always a fan of firefox :P. chrome is my backup

sorta the same, lol. IE only for stupid website like PizzaPizza.ca where they got a new web developer who decided it was more beneficial to them to design a website that only works in IE >_> yea, I also ***** to them about some bug they had with ordering with credit card when it didn't work in 'IE' as well. Got 2 coupon for free pizza, but I gave it away to my friend. Just don't care anymore.

I stop ordering from them (unless the guest wants pizza pizza,) and started ordering from PizzaHut, Swiss Chalet, and a bunch of other food chain for delivery.
