for dumb reasons i guess, like smoking a cig after dinner. i really enjoy smoking somehow.
other than that i live really healthy so i hope i can make up for it a bit.

im sure a lot people start because thats the 'cool' thing to do in highschool and after that they end up addicted, honestly i dont remember why i started smoking or why i stopped, one day i just randomly quit

I don't blame it on addiction or peer pressure or anything like that, because when it comes down to it the reason I put a cigarette in my mouth and light it up is because I want one.

Herb - started out because I liked it...progressed into medical reasons. Not that I don't still LOVE it, but having the doctor tell you "smoke a few times a week, or get a spinal tap every 4-6 months for the rest of your life" I chose the obvious answer.
(edit: yes, that is honestly what he told me. The alternative medicine for my condition is frequent spinal taps and pills that make you want to vomit.)
Many people I know who smoke cigarettes started because they started working. People would go out on "smoke breaks" and eventually that turned into "hey, you want one?" which turned into "I'm gonna go on a smoke break" which turned into "I smoke to relax" which turned into "I'm gonna go buy a carton."

I don't like putting smoke in my body to emulate stress relief. Also creating a habit you don't need is too much for me. I just work out all my frustrations or headbang to metal music.

It still baffles me that people think smoking is cool or sexy. It's actually the furthest thing from that.
Whenever I write fiction, none of my characters smoke. There's literally no need, it adds nothing.

Just because? There's no real REASON, people just do. I do, only for about a year and a half now. So what? People who don't smoke, that's fine, I don't blame you. Just really a personal call, there could be numerous "reasons" or excuses. I really don't have an excuse, simply just because I haven't tried to stop yet.

Or, because we enjoy the taste of tobacco. Which is the real reason. I smoke menthol cigarettes because i love the taste. I smoke because the mixture of coffee and cigarettes in the morning is ungodly delicious to me. Because a tea break isn't half as desirable without having the taste of a cigarette. Notice the similarities? because i LIKE it.
Smoking a pipe at a bonfire is incredibly relaxing, AND delicious.
Smoking a pipe while drinking some scotch is absolutely amazing.
Smoking a cigarette in order to take a break from the rush of a kitchen is relaxing.

The reason hardly anyone uses those is because having to use a plastic substitute for a cigarette makes them feel like a filthy addict.
It erases many mainstream smokers' mental line between them and the people they look upon with disgust for doing illegal drugs.
My wager, anyway.
Nobody forces you to do anything. If im walking down campus and its legal to smoke in public, its in your interest to move away. I do try to blow away from people but if your walking up my *** and i accidentally blow in your face, its more your problem than mine.

If you know there are going to be non-smokers then why put up a cig in the first place?
Isn't there time and place enough in your own house to do so?
i dont light up in restaraunts, enclosed spaces you cant get out of(unless its a giant party in which case you should expect smoking), i walk out of my way when a baby or small kid comes around so i dont have it anywhere near them. When im walking down a street or something I keep on the FAR left or right near the street so i can blow towards the road, not the sidewalk. Yet you still get people who will walk behind you near the street and *****. Im doin my part, non smokers arnt doin theirs when it comes to ME getting *****ed out about smoking.
i just said i walk on the far sides of pathways so i can blow AWAY from the pathway, yet people will, almost seemingly purposely, still walk behind me and *****.
