P.E.S. is the better series by far, gameplay wise. Much more like real football.
They just don't have all the accurate kits/team names, because Fifa does. I care more about how a game plays, though.

I don't get why people say PES is more realistic. Look at this:

A simulation would be much faster. In PES, the players need alot of startup-time to dash at their max speed, while in RL someone can pretty much run at fullspeed in a matter of 1-2 seconds.
I mean, look at the gameplay.
And now, a real match.
The speed of the ball alone makes a huge difference, not to mention that the ball physics are completely unrealistic. Just take a look at the goalkeeper when he does a kickoff, the ball's in the air for like 4-5 seconds. The same goes for a cross, the ball is way too slow and in the air too long.
This year i'll prefer fifa over pes, the wannabe-realism thing ruined the whole game for me
