talking about fail when LOTRO had to go f2p, like, seriously lol'd.

Anyway, I think I'll wait a bit more before I fall into fanboi/spender temptation.

And it was a smart move from Turbine.
1Million more players, 20% Increases of subbers, and gets doubled profit.
    All in a single month.

I was actually thinking about ffxiv, and why there still isn't auction house, and suddenly I came to think of retainers. With them actually making people have to cathegorize some of the stuffs, you would actually need to buy more retainers, which means you would have to pay SE more money as a subscription fee. With auction house the need of extra retainers would be much less and SE would make less money out of it.

Well this is just a random thought.

gamespot give poor rating. they have to try to fix before the game get shutdown or they lose alot money for just use graphic only to make a game

FFXIV is nothing like FFXI. I don't expect you, Blaze, to know that. But not everyone has to be a Fanboy to play a game... What are you playing at the moment Blaze? YA A FANBOI?! You must be to be playing that game. Seriously... Why can't a game just be enjoyable anymore.

    That wasn't the point

Of course the game was bound to get more players as it isn't a bad game, just not good enough to hold its own on the p2p as the market made clear.

Nonetheless, it still failed its primary goal, to be a successful p2p MMO.

It's actually pretty fun if you have some people helping you out. Other than that, it's a drag.

LOTRO was doing fine with its core subbers. Not a big bang boom MMO, but not going under or anything. They knew they would get more money if they would make it semi-f2p. DDO already showed em that. Turning F2P doesn't mean it's going bad, just that it could be better. Turbine doesn't wait till the game completely dies out like some company then try to extend its life by going completely f2p. No, Turbine plans ahead and says 'We're stable now, but we could get roughly 20% increases in Subbers if we do this. Shall we ?' And they did.

Nonetheless, it still failed its primary goal, to be a successful p2p MMO
To be extreme; according to you, I think every single MMO has failed that, except WoW.
