Well, now we know the name of the next Batman movie.

During an interview just published on Hero Complex, Chris Nolan has revealed the title of Batman 3: it will be called “The Dark Knight Rises and it WONT be shot in 3D (they'll shoot in IMAX format instead).

In the same interview, Nolan announced something that Batman movie fans have been debating and speculating about, ever since the end credits rolled on The Dark Knight: Nolan has stated that The Riddler will NOT be the villain featured in The Dark Knight Rises.

I don't think they could make Mr. Freeze work in Nolan's universe. I think the Riddler would've fit perfectly, but now I've got to look at who else it could be. Talia al Ghul could be the female interest.

Edit: Naw, they wouldn't do a good Bane. They'd just make him a brainless idiot like they did in Batman and Robin.

I'm sure he would make him a little better then the last time he was in a movie.

They should've called it The Dark Knight Returns.

What's he rising from? He got his redemption at the end of The Dark Knight. The Dark Knight, in a conceivable trilogy, would've been the best possible third movie. They blew their wad too early.

If they did Bane in the second, they could've had him breaking Batman's back, ending it on a bad note, a la The Empire Strikes Back, and then having the events of The Dark Knight as the third/final movie. Having The Riddler after The Joker is just pointless. It's like showing someone a Led Zeppelin album and then telling them to go listen to Wolfmother. No point.

Of course, my ideas regarding comic book movies are just better, though. So, I can't blame them for that.

Not everyone can be Norrin Radd. I think a title like "Gotham" or some extension of that would be cool.

The fact is, if I can come up with that, surely someone who is paid millions to come up with this shit could have done so.

I mean, they didn't know Ledger was gonna die, but still. I think the acclaim of a Knightfall-based second movie would've still been good enough to hype for a third. In an ideal world, Ledger would've been alive to be The Joker, or someone else would've. That definitely should've been the last movie. Everything that needed to be said or tied up was said and tied up in The Dark Knight.

You could have a wheelchair-bound Bruce Wayne watching those hockey pad copycats acting in his absense, vowing to get back on the street etc. I guess these people just aren't as much of a conceptual genius as I am.

Hes rising back up to a hero in the publics eyes. Now, I don't mean to argue someone who I'm sure knows more about it than me, but at the end of the movie, didn't the cops "have to" chase him? And, they smashed the bat signal.

Batman Begins was a mediocre movie.

Only reason Dark Knight was good was because it had a really good villain in Heath Ledger.

W/out a good villain it'll suffer from all the same problems of DK and BB without anything making it worthwhile.

The first one sucked *** because the villains were lame as hell. It was also anti-climatic. Unless they find an awesome villain the series is going to turn to shit again.
