His first appearance is at episode 9 at the very end. So you want to start from 10 and up most likely or 9 to sort of get a hold of where you left off.

Chopper was there to fill the cute quota, but around the alabaster arc, it get's pretty good. afterwards is pretty good too, i remember a little drag, but thriller bark when brook is introduced is awesome as hell. Brook is third of most awesome strawhat, Mr. 2 is my favorite villian by far.

Well Choppers first appearance in the show itself was episode 81. Are looking for the episode where he set sail with other Straw Hats together? A.k.a Drum Island arc ending?
IIRC then it's Episode 91 where they run away from that castle.
