Theres more than enough players playing it currently.. Some would even say theres too much =\ .... ever since it went f2p the map is flooded with noob player cities..
I wouldn't say this was any less of an mmorpg than every other mmorpg currently out but thats just IMO... YOu wont reach level 70 in a week if your new... If you played every day i would say 3 weeks if your lucky...
Currently Stray bullet games is still in love with this game and developers are experimenting with new updates.. They wont let this game die.. However i realllllllllllllllllllllllly doubt they are staying f2p; so i wouldnt recomend this game if you wont be able to pay for it after you fall in love with it =\
BTW: how come my replies are allways so long? I allways try to make them short n simple but they turn out into 3 paragraphs wtf..

No there is no mount system, the closest you'll ever get to a horse is the centaurians but don't think just cus they've got 4 legs that they'll be considered the fastest. There are run buffs that will enable a player to run fast and if you built your character right you could easily out run a centaur. There's also a couple of races that can fly too, but they're strictly for mage classes really.
As for if its going to be free forever? yeah, as far as I know it is staying that way. The company, even though keeping the game stable and up to date, have decided to move on. There was a rumor once that Shadowbane was even going to be ditched completely, but I guess popularity allowed it to stay alive. I highly doubt they'll ever return it to p2p as they know they'll loose alot of players which really is just dumb, it will cause alot of deserted towns not to mention a rapid popularity fall for their decision. Anyways, there is another rumor that an improved Shadowbane is in the works, not sure if this is true but the company have stated that they are working on better graphical games since they now have enough funding to do so.
