vote for what ?
Just ate some monkey fightin' breakfast, read to do some monday to friday votin'.
Reputation: 1151This year isn't presidential elections, its state ones. Governors, gov't representatives, sheriffs, etc.
But Prop 19 would make Cali have legalized herb for all people 21+. I'm interested to see how its going to turn out, because dealers want a black market, ya know? So they are all going to vote against it. But as far as I can tell, the polls have all been in favor for it.
I'm just sooooooooo glad my state is getting the governor out. Hes the biggest ****ing idiot we've ever had.
Reputation: 36Man i wanna live in california, their governor is a freaking terminator for god sake.
Reputation: 1151My state has 2 horribly corrupt idiots running for office. Its really a matter of choosing the lesser of two evils unfortunately. There isn't one solid choice.![]()
I'm not voting since the corrupt idiots running for office never do what they want anyway, along with the fact that most people voting have no idea what they are talking about when it comes to politics.
go go go prop 19 i hope u get it trough , so if it would be legal in california , police could arest u still for weed bc of the law of the state america or what??
time to vote for some antigay, homophobe jesus freak asshole.
It's a shame prop 19 doesn't mean anything.
Even if california legalizes it (and if it does, it'll get revoked later.) the federal government won't.

Reputation: 1151Obama has already stated that it is not his priority by any means to chase down states that are playing around with MJ laws. It will be interesting to see how the federal government reacts to it if it passes.
I'm just thankful that I have my legal medical smoke.
Voting is the governments nice little way of letting you think that your opinion actually matters and that by voting you are actually doing something productive, when in reality you are just choosing which method you want to be ****ed.
I once spoke with a guy who used to work for Phillip Morris and he claimed that they would have no problem getting in the pot market if it were ever legalized.
I agree with Irony, it's all about money. These politcians are corporately elected anyway.
Reputation: 292Weed is easy to produce and gives a high without all the bad things from tobacco and alcohol.
If you look who is pouring money into ads that are anti-prop 19 you will see it is the police departments and alcohol industry.
So they obviously don't want it to be legal and are spending lots of money to do so.
And they will most likely get their way.
A company cares about profit before anything else and they will find ways to cut spending or reduce regulations even if they have to throw a lot of money at a politician or spam false ads to the public.
For example, the billionaire Koch Brothers are in the oil business and there is a law in California that they are fighting against which would put caps on carbon emissions.
What they do is hold meetings with all the other "like-minded" people in the energy business to finance their efforts to stop the law from being passed.
They(the rich) try to work together to get the poorer (middle class and below) to believe they are on there side.
But they don't care about the poor, they care about filling their own wallets.
Another example is the huge fraud case with Countrywide.
The CEO Angelo Mozilo knew even by 2003 that the market assets were toxic yet he kept telling the public that they were better than ever.
Him and the president of the company basically bled it dry and ran with the money.
While they were eventually found guilty of fraud their fine was not even a slap on the wrist.
Mozilo made over 400 million and was fined a measly 67.5 million which the company paid most of that fine off anyway.
The President made around 60 million and was fined only around 5 million which the company practically paid all off.
So two frauds got away with hundreds of millions of other people's money with no accountability.
The CEO was prohibited from taking another officer or director position which didn't really matter because the guy was in his 70s and just made over 400million.
He basically retired with a hefty sum of money that he got from fraud.
The President was prohibited from his position for only 3 years....
The funny part is that the SEC is trying to make a big deal over it as if this was some big win.
The SEC does not care about the fraud they only care about their status. They wanted to end the case and claim victory while letting a bunch of frauds get huge profits.
Those frauds should give back all that money and then some.
These are just a small speck of examples of why money, power and connections will always rule above law.
Actually, Obama has all the influence. Federal cases are all prosecuted by the Executive branch and they get to pick and choose what to prosecute.
I think California needs legalized weed. The state is broke and we would make a killing off of it by taxing it out the wazoo. And even then it would probably still be cheaper than it is now.
Sorry for all this, but this isn't something I can sit by and just read.
"Police officers will still use federal law to fine you or send you to jail for possession of marijuana."
*Sigh*, The federal government isn't going to track down every single person who smokes weed to arrest them. they will only grab people who grow more than their allowed and take that product and sell it illegally. Ive been a medical patient for years and the federal government hasn't tryed to arrest me yet they are completely allowed. (FYI local police can't arrest you for a federal crime when the state doesn't follow the same laws).
"Weed is easy to produce and gives a high without all the bad things from tobacco and alcohol."
Weed is not easy to produce, period. Not if you want to grow it correctly.
there is alot of PH balancing, Nutrient balancing, pruning, super cropping, light schedule, I could go on and on.
"It's a shame prop 19 doesn't mean anything. Even if california legalizes it (and if it does, it'll get revoked later.) the federal government won't."
Wrong. prop 19 means alot to legalization as a whole, It'll do the same thing as when California created SB420. It created a chain reaction in which most states have a medical marijuana law currently. Prop 19 will do the same thing, though there is some of the prop that I don't agree with and that needs revision It needs to be passed as a positive first step, we can revise in 2012.
Also, did the federal government revoke SB420(The medical prop)? No it did not. If it didn't revoke that law it won't revoke 19.
"It would be bad for the police departments, the tobacco industry and the alcohol industry."
The police departments support 19 dude.

Reputation: 1151Anyone can grow weed, thats extremely untrue man
Lets be honest here, you can drop a seed and grow it in the window of your house. Its possible to do 12/12 from seed, so anyone could technically grow their own.
Especially if they could do it in their lawn. Any area with 8 or 9 weeks of 12/12 (or less) sunlight (before frost) are able to grow cannabis (and the sunlight schedule doesn't apply to the newly developed autoflowers anyway)
True, its not going to be high quality results.
Anyone can brew alcohol too, its ridiculously simple. The thing is - it tastes terrible and often doesn't do the same job store bought does.
So, unless you really wanna read read read and spend $400+ on a nice grow setup, its much more feasible to just buy some from a dispensary.
Not everybody is into it enough to setup their own hydro tables, lights, etc.
well thats why I said correctly =P.
