    Default TV Help.

So I'm planning on Buying a New TV for my room but their are certain things I'm unsure of

1:Can all HDTVS double as computer monitors? Is their a certain component they need to do that?

2: Whats a good place to shop for TVs? I'm trying to find a 50inch Around 600 dollars but thats looking to be difficult.A 40inch TV would be fine as well.

I'm looking for something that delivers good game picture.

If the TV has VGA input, it can be used as a monitor for sure. If your PC and the TV has HDMI, it can also be used as a monitor.

If you're in the USA, wait for black friday. There are insane sales...sure you have to wake up at 3 AM and fight through a huge crowd and stand in line for a few hours, but isn't saving like $200 worth it?

Older video cards/pcs had s-video out which was compatible with most newer tv's (AV onwards) the latest ones use HDMI, so with any half decent video card you can go HDMI to HDMI, I used a 50 inch panasonic since 2007 as my monitor, had some issues with resolution but easily fixed through settings, did have slight burn in as it was a plasma but this can be rectified by putting the snow show on for a few minutes when burn in was noticeable (should be a non issue with new models with pixel swap etc). Recently upgraded to a KDL40HX800 (Sony 40 inch 3D tv) I say upgraded as the 50 inch was a neck breaker from 2 and a half feet away so the small size suits, text is super crisp unlike my panasonic which up close was hard to read in smaller font size. New TV set me back $1849AUD, that's with 3 years warranty and a sony bonus pack

    2. 2 x Sony Active Shutter 3D glasses (model TDGBR100B) valued at $99RRP each inc GST
    3. 1 x Sony 3D Transmitter valued at $69RRP inc GST (not included and not required with LX900 series)
    4. 2 x 3D Blu-ray™ Movies - Alice in Wonderland and BOLT valued at $52.95RRP each inc GST
    5. 1 x Gran Turismo 5 Standard Edition game valued at $119.95RRP inc GST
    6. 1 x Games download voucher, for four (4) Playstation®3 games (set out in Condition 15) valued at $49.95RRP inc GST"

Not sure where you are buying but it's always good to find a few models you're interested in then compare prices and reviews online, I found cnet.com.au good for reviews.

Most say panasonic has the best panels for picture quality, but I think the other big names have closed in, Sonys 800 series are getting good reviews and the samsung 9000 series too.
