    Default 90s

Am I the only one who thinks the music in 90s sounds way better than nowadays? I am referring to mostly RnB, rap and similar genre music. I mean, it's just braincell murdering music today, but I seem to enjoy the older ones.

Not really nostalgia tbh. I was born in 1992, but haven't really heard many songs nor do I remember them when I was younger

For me at least, I love old stuff. Retro is one of my favourite things ever. Sometimes I'll listen to old music or watch old movies just because they're old.

In fact, one time I bid on a juicer in a raffle because the description said "Vintage Juicer."

Trying to put that aside, I do prefer older music. That's not to say there isn't good stuff around today, but it's not in the mainstream.

I was born in 1991, I've heard some of the music, but not all, but even that is enough for me to say that the music that we had back in the 90's/95's etc, is way better then what is being produced now.

Finding good music today for me is near impossible. A few songs in a few months maybe.

I was born in 1990 and to be honest i never absorbed any music of that generation only a portion of it and thats what i remember hearing on the radio.

When i got older i started to check out music from the 80,s 90,s and such and i would say no.not even close.

Obviously, names like Biggie,Big L,Rakim,Nas and others dont come twice.

Look at Hip Hop and Rap now,Lil Wayne and some other people are running it.

    Autotune is running it actually.

This is because the approach of mainstream rap has morphed into how polished and immaculate the beats are.

Listen to alot of it and you will rarely find a good lyracist.

    Exactly.

For example, my dad saw Queen sell out Wembley Stadium. He saw Freddie Mercury at his very best, strutting around on the world's most legendary stage and owning the place with the talent of him and his band.

His verdict was that it was shit too. Simply because it was mainstream.

Of course I jest. He said it was the greatest moment of his life after just two other things.

For me, I love that OG west coast "whistle".

    Anyone know what I mean?

Even this, even though its not a "whistle"...the synthesizer or whatever the hell it is, IDK...some of you musical guys should know...

Not the drums and cymbals...maybe its on a keyboard?

    One more that EVERYONE knows...

Mmmmmmm. I can just sit back and listen to that for hours. IDK, its just got such good flow.

    Same thing for trance really.

A few good new tunes out there, but compared to end 90s and begin 2000s, it's completely *****. (thank you MTV for taking over Viva and filling it with mainstream shit)

People constantly tell me I'm like "Stuck in the 90's" because I don't listen to their lil wayne..

late 80's early 90's were the best years for rap and hip hop, late 90's early 2000(2000-2004 ?) were the best years for RnB.

I've been into the whole underground scene right now, and there's a lot of good musicians but I presume we're talking mainsteam .

Been jamming to some remix's of everything from dubstep to nas over nujabes lately. It's like taking a really good style of music and adding some flavor to it.

You have, you just didn't realize it.
Some are from beginning of 2000, but they still were when trance actually was good.
